When to order flowers?

Hi Christina! What are you planning on doing with the flowers? Do you have somewhere to store them before the wedding? Check out the WeddingWire checklist for the recommended time frame to place your flower order from a florist!

If you're putting them together yourself and they're real flowers, I'd do it in the couple days before the wedding so they don't wilt and die. And keep them somewhere cool, like a refrigerator.

We are going to order from 2 websites, wholeblossoms.com and gallonei.com. So we are not hiring a florist to do our flowers which is why I’m wondering if the time frame is the same as to if we are doing it ourselves

Do not put flowers in the refrigerator. Fresh produce items naturally emit chemicals as soon as they are picked from their plant for the ripening and decomposing process. These chemicals will wilt and kill fresh cut flowers. You are better off getting them as close to the wedding date as possible and keeping them in a cool place away from sunlight in buckets of water. A basement would be a good place. Don't make the arrangements until the night before.
