When to order Invites?

Mandi, on September 16, 2019 at 7:48 PM Posted in Planning 0 10
How soon is too soon?

I'm 6 months (and a few weeks out) so I'm still checking out my options.

I'm planning on ordering around black friday. (Hoping for a deal.) But Shutterfly has 50% off right now.

I'm planning on waiting.

But ideally, how early should I order invites? Or what is the earliest if I plan to send them out mid-late January?

Ooh I didn’t think about ordering invites on Black Friday (or cyber Monday) but that’s a good idea! I will say that Shutterfly runs sales almost every week, so I wouldn’t worry if that’s where you plan on getting your invites Smiley smile

I would say any time between now and the end of the year would be a good time to order, especially if you don’t anticipate any of the details on the invites changing.

My fiancé and I are getting married October 4th of 2020 and we are ordering our invites around Black Friday/Cyber Monday. We are then sending them out like 3 or 4 months before. Everyone has varying opinions on that though, as many have told me that’s way too soon, but to each their own! Anyway, I’m also going through Shutterfly and I’ve been with them for a couple months now. They run deals often. So, you don’t have to worry too much. I expect that around Blac Friday/Cyber Monday they will have good deals going as well.

I'm getting married Saturday & we sent our invites out end of July. We also sent save the dates in November of last year. 6-8 weeks is about the time frame they say.

I actually ordered most of mine this past weekend. But only because cards and pockets have the colors I want on clearance and I didn't want to miss getting the ones I wanted. We wont be sending them out until April or May for a July ceremony. I'm sending my save the dates this weekend though.

If you go to the Shutterfly Wedding Shop you can order a sample kit that will show you various types of invites and paper. Biggest perk is that there is a 40% off coupon in there as well that's good for up to six months after you get it. I don't remember, and I doubt, if you can combine it with other offers though.
