When to schedule hair and make up for 4pm ceremony?

Mr&Mrs89, on April 20, 2017 at 9:54 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 23

Hi brides to be! Just wondering what would be a good time to start getting ready if ceremony starts at 4pm? I got a friend of the family doing my hair and make up but my girls are going to a salon to get their hair done and then come back for make up since she won't have time to do both for everyone. They at least get to do make up with me.

What time does your photographer want you ready by and are you doing a first look/formal pics before the ceremony? We have a 5 pm wedding and are doing pics before so the photographer wanted me ready to get into my dress at 2pm. I gave that time to my mua and she gave us a timeline. For us it will take 2 mua's from 10am to 2pm to do 7 girls' makeup including mine. How many girls do you have?

Our ceremony starts at 4, but we're doing a First Look and other photos starting at 2:30. I'll be getting my hair and makeup done at 11:30. So if you aren't doing a First Look or getting photos taken before the ceremony, 12 should give you plenty of time Smiley smile

We're doing a 5:30 ceremony and need to be at the venue for 3:30. HMUA starts at 8:30a. We have four bridesmaids, our two moms, two flower girls (hair and some blush), and myself.

Depends on when you want to start pictures. If you're doing pictures before the ceremony, I suggest this:

    4pm ceremony

3pm quiet time away from guest entrance

    1pm photos

    11am make up and hair

My wedding is at 4:30pm. When I was figuring this out, the first thing I did was contact my photographer to ask her what time I need to be ready and in my dress for pictures. I believe she told me 2pm (I'd have to go back and check). With that information, I reached out to my make-up artist.. She told me she would start at 11am. From there, I took all that information and gave it to my hair stylist. She wants to start at 9am so that she can have about 2 bridesmaids done when the make-up artist arrives.

We are starting at 9am for a 3pm ceremony. We aren't doing a first look, but I'm having pictures with my bridal party before. We are all getting our makeup done and some will be getting hair done if they choose to. It will be about 10 of us total including my bridal party, FSIL, both my SILs, my mom, FMIL, and the children in the wedding.

We're starting at 8am for 9 people with a 4pm ceremony. But we're leaving at 230 to head to the venue.

We started hair and makeup at 9am, arrived at the church at 2 to get dressed and do some pre-ceremony pics. That was hair and makeup for myself, 6 BMs, and my mom.

Our ceremony starts at 3, and I have to be at the venue by noon so my salon appointment is at 10.

Hi Mr&Mrs89! The easiest way to figure out your wedding day timeline is to work backwards!

If the ceremony is at 4, you'll probably need to be at the ceremony venue and "hidden away" by at least 3:30. How much travel time is there from where you are getting ready to the ceremony venue? I'd at least aim for everyone to be finished getting ready (you and bridesmaids) by 2:30 to give some buffer time in case you're running late!

Now - ask your makeup artist how much time she needs to do everyone's makeup for you all to be finished by 2:30. Make sure the salon hair appointments will be finished in time for makeup and you'll get to your start time for the day!
