When to send invites?

Molly, on March 2, 2020 at 2:01 PM Posted in Planning 2 53
How far in advance did everyone send their invites? My wedding is in June and I just want to make sure every one has the time to RSVP and plan what they need to plan

This also depends on when your final count is due to venue

It is due a week before the wedding! I never thought of that as a factor

When are your headcounts due to your vendors? How many guests will be traveling from out of town (and especially out of state)? I'd typically recommend sending your invitations 8-10 weeks before the wedding with RSVPs due one month beforehand, but you can adjust that timeline up/down depending on when headcounts are due to your vendors and whether people are mostly local or mostly traveling.

The final counts are due a week before the wedding. Our vendors were very lenient with that..

It's a large mix of both local and out of town/state!

    Thank you so much

Make your RSVPs due no later than 1 week ahead of time. Mine were due to me last Friday, and I have 12 days between that deadline and my venues deadline for me. I have 20 RSVPs to track down before next week.
I have my guests 6 weeks.
I sent my invites 10 weeks in advance. Which is technically too early, but I couldn't wait 2 more weeks.

I'd send RSVPs a little earlier if you have a lot of out of town guests (10-12 weeks in advance) but you can probably have RSVPs due about 3 weeks before the wedding in that case. Give yourself at least a week to chase down people who don't RSVP, there will probably be a lot!

My wedding isn't until June and I am such a planner that I am anxious and want to send them out so I can make sure that I have time to track down those who haven't responded. I put the RSVP date a month before the wedding

Our date is the first week of June. I sent them out last week. If you have out of town guest I would send them as soon as possible.

My wedding is May 21 and we sent the invites this past weekend. All of our family will be travelling from out of state. So technically, we sent these out at about the 11 week mark.

I say send them out now! It's exciting and I bet everyone will be so excited to get your invite. I don't know why people wait so long to send out invites. I am a planner to and the sooner I know the better. My wedding is 9/5/2020 and I have my invites ready to go. We sent out our save the dates with our Christmas cards!

My wedding is in June and I just sent my invites out today. We are having our wedding where we live, but we don't live by any family, so most of our guest list will be traveling. We wanted to make sure to send out invites earlier so guests were able to make their travel arrangements

I sent ours out last week for our July wedding because about 3/4 of the guests are coming from around the country and I wanted them to have plenty of time for travel arrangements and accommodation planning.

Some of our will have to travel a few hours and some from out of state. Luckily most are local
