When to send out invitations?

Save the Dates 6 months before if wedding is local. Invitations for local 6-8 weeks before the wedding with RSVPS due 2-3 weeks before. I’m getting married October 30th 2022 and I’m sending my save the dates end of April or beginning of May. My invites are going out mid September with an RSVP date of October 9th

Save the dates are sent either by postcard/magnets or phone at 6-12 months before the wedding. Invites are sent 6-8 weeks before the wedding standard for everyone. If you send them earlier, people will forget and lose the information. If they are sent after 6 weeks, people will assume they are B listed.


The save the dates are sent to everyone, local and distant, and give guests a heads up so they can make necessary arrangements.

Save the dates 6-8 months in advanced. Save the dates give out of town guests ample time to arrange for travel. If the wedding is local then invites should be sent out 6-8 weeks before. If not local, invites are sent 10-12 weeks before.

I'm getting married 9/17/22 and sending Save the dates in January (half our guests are traveling over 1000 miles). Invites will go out in July and have a mid august RSVP date.
