CountryBride, on December 6, 2020 at 1:31 PM Posted in Planning 0 8

Most of our guests is going to have to travel. We are getting married in Northern Colorado and most of our guests is out of state with only about 15 guests in state, We are getting married in April 2022 and I was thinking of sending out save the dates next April. When is the correct time line for sending out save the dates?

Save the dates are typically sent 6-8 months before the wedding. 10 months if it is a destination wedding. The 6-8 month time frame will be plenty of notice for your guests.

6-12 months out is the typical time frame. It gives guests time to save money, make travel arrangements, schedule time off. The invites are sent out at the standard 6-8 weeks.

If most of your guests are traveling, I’d send out your save the dates in June. I’d also highly recommend sending them to just your out of state guests/VIPs just in case you need to make cuts in numbers closer to your date (not necessarily COVID, but for any number of reasons).

We sent ours out 10 months prior since some guests have to travel. Since most of your guests have to travel, I would do 10 months out.

We are in November and sending save the dates out February the latest. For the out of state weddings we’ve been invited to, we got the save the dates a year in advance. I’d do 12 months to be on the safe side because I know my company in particular becomes harder to get the days off after March each year because they give precedence to those who request time off by March of that year.

I would say about 10months before the wedding is good. However if you want to send them out a year in advance then go for it
