When to send out wedding invitations

Desirae, on July 31, 2022 at 8:04 PM Posted in Planning 4 4
Hi everyone! I have a question. I am getting married Nov 5, 2022. When is it appropriate to send out the invitations and to ask rsvp date.

You should not send them out before the beginning of September and RSVP should not be before Oct. 5th.

Invitations are typically sent out 6 to 8 weeks before the wedding. I would check with your vendors to find out when they need final headcounts by, and set your STD deadline accordingly. For example, some vendors may require final headcounts 30 days out; and you will want to ensure you are giving yourself a two week buffer between your STD deadline and the date final numbers need to be in, because more than likely you are going to have to hunt down people after your STD deadline if they haven’t replied.

6-8 weeks standard. With rsvps due at 4 weeks because no one can commit to anything before then and employers don’t given final schedules before then. If you count backwards, send them anytime between September 1 and 19. No earlier or later.

Vendors are aware of this timeline so many will wait until 3 weeks before the wedding for the deadline for a final headcount. Because you also need a buffer period to track downs anyone who did not reply by the deadline, and that should not take longer than a week.
