When to send thank you cards?

As soon as you can / within a couple months.

I bought holiday themed thank you cards to force myself to get them all mailed out within a month after our wedding.

The longer you wait, the less heartfelt the notes will be.

My goal is to have them postmarked by 10/31. I was married on 9/16. I would have liked to get them out sooner but didn't. I would get them out now, OP as your wedding was almost 3 months ago.

I plan on starting on ours the week after our wedding.

We got ours out within 2 months.

I'm planning to send mine out this week. I was trying to wait until my photographer got my pics back, but instead asked her to send me a few to choose from. I feel bad even sending them out this late!

Within 3 months! One of the best tricks I've heard is to write them as gifts come in, so the majority are ready and done.

I got married September 30th and I have four left to do. I wanted to send them out ASAP.

Started ours the night we got back from the honeymoon. Everyone had them within 2-3 weeks of the wedding.

We are finishing ours tonight and sending them out within the next week. It was important to me to get it done ASAP.

MIL showed H and I a post card thank you which she liked, just to show us an option of what we could do. She said it wss appropriate but it was 3 months after the wedding and she didn't think that was appropriate. I'm working on mine, using the same address labels as I did for invites.

As soon as you can, but life happens. Just after my friends got married they moved halfway across the country for work and adopted a new pup, I got a thank you card almost a year later to the day.

Notes, not cards. Two to three weeks.

ASAP. I've been sending Thank You's for gifts as soon as we get them, so all of those are done. I'll aim to write the rest 2-3 weeks after the wedding and we are sending a Thank You postcard to everyone 4-6 weeks after (a holiday card).

We had a super small wedding and a short honeymoon (hubby wasn't able to take as much time off this year) so I had all of them mailed out that I wasn't able to hand deliver before we had been married a week.
