When to send Wedding Invitations

Wedding invitations are typically sent out 6-8 weeks before the wedding. If it's a destination wedding or majority of the guests need to travel a significant distance to attend, you could send the invites 8-12 weeks in advance. When choosing an RSVP deadline, set it for a few days (or even a week) before your final count is due to your venue, so you have time to track down anyone who doesn't respond by the deadline.

Also, if you plan to send save the dates, those typically go out 6-8 months prior to the wedding. If you are having a destination wedding, or there are a significant amount of guests who will have to travel for your wedding, they may be sent out as early as 12 months before your wedding.

View Quoted Comment Thank for this information, unfortunately I have to move fast we been engaged for 14/12months. But we didn't make a solid decision until a month and secured a venue. Are wedding is less than 6months away. I have already sent out the save the dates as soon as I secured a venue I sent them that following week. So, considering it's May and my wedding is in July I should probably send out those invitations this month?? Or another time??
