When you settle into marriage...

OldSchoolKindaLove, on February 18, 2020 at 2:56 PM Posted in Married Life 3 6

Every day life gets in the way sometimes! Between work, household chores, children, etc, we all get sidetracked. However, I found a website which has ideas for dates, special occasions, holidays, just because gifts, family fun, etc. I was searching for something new to do for Valentine's Day. My husband and I celebrated our 6th Valentine's Day (2nd Married Valentine's Day) this year. We have done the same thing for the past 6 years, and I thought it was time to change it up.

This year, I sent him on a scavenger hunt ( I got a template from the dating divas (link at bottom of this post) It was so fun setting this up, of course I like to be creative myself so I took the opportunity to make all of the clues myself instead of using their clues. After he opened the envelope with his first clue, he simply looked at me and said, "This doesn't lead to a pregnancy test does it?" (Which what a great idea?!? Right?) However, that was not his final gift, so I told him No, it's not a pregnancy test.

Afterwards I watched him search his truck for his next clue. I also tied in the dating divas mission/task scavenger hunt into it, and incorporated tasks like opening the car door, and picking a song to dance to in our living room to receive his next clue. My husband loved it, along the way I bought some of his favorite candy and a couple small heart-shaped boxes filled with chocolate for him to find as well. Anyways, his big prize was boudior photos, since I didn't get them done for our wedding. He was so surprised & said it was definitely a day to remember.

Like I said, they have more ideas and the best part is most of them are FREE!!!!

Here's the website if your interested:

That is such a cute idea and thanks for the info. I just signed up for their newsletter. This was our 1st married Valentines Day but our 8th together Valentines Day and I have always made his gift but this year, it was tough! I have done everything and am running out of ideas so hopefully this will help plan for next years.

They have ideas for everything! I have already started looking at ideas for his birthday, and our anniversary. I put his Valentine's together in a matter of a couple days and I felt rushed. I have always been planner though! I hope it's as helpful for you as it has been for me!
