When you're a guest, do you sign the guest book?

The only wedding I remember even seeing the guest book was my FBIL’s wedding last month. My FH signed both (regular book and alternative) for both of us. If I can find it I’d sign it but would definitely not know what to say and would end up writing something awkward.

I will usually sign and leave a message as long as there's not a long line. Usually I forget about it after getting inside and beginning to drink :p

Yes I have always signed the guest book. We are planning on using the rest of the pages of our guest book as our wedding photo album.

Yes, I sign it, or if it's a Polaroid guest book we take a photo and put that there with a little note.

I do. I love fun ones though. I am over the typical lined book

I always do! I'm horrible at things like these though, so I just write, "To a long and happy marriage!" And sign it. I'm even worse at cards lol.

I usually sign the guest book, and generally include a short note. My favorite one was my friend's photobooth strip guestbook - it was cool to leave a note next to our photos.

I missed it at the last one I went to, and I'm kind of sad. It was at the back of the ceremony site, and we walked in at the front, and I never even saw it or thought of it. I missed the card box too, and neither got brought up to the reception. So keep that in mind when you are thinking about where and when to place them.

I did hand my card to their DOC when I realized it, and the couple did get it, so that was a relief!

You know come to think of it..I don't think I have ever even thought to write in a guest book at a wedding before, maybe once? But it was just my name and a smiley face? Hmm starting to think the guest book is a waste of money..think I will forgo it. Like a pp said people usually write nice notes in the wedding card.

I usually find myself signing the guestbook as an excuse to get out of an awkward conversation with a random guest I don't know. I never have anything interesting to write, though.

I always get stuck thinking of what to say and usually end up saying something really cliche like I wish you guys the best of luck in your marriage. I do think it kinda depends on how close you are too the people that are getting married too because I had a lot more to say for my best friend when she got married.

I like to hide a tiny, very subtle drawing of a penis somewhere on every guest book I sign.

I always sign it. The message depends on how well I know the couple.

I always try to sign & leave a short note. I am one for long cards and notes but I don't think a wedding reception is the best place to pour my heart on paper...
