Where are you going for your honeymoon?

Brittany, on November 16, 2018 at 10:09 AM Posted in Honeymoon 0 58

Where are you going/where did you go for your honeymoon? In what month? Any exciting excursions you're planning to do? I am in the beginning stages of planning the wedding and we are thinking of planning our honeymoon to Hawaii!

We are also going to Hawaii! Next July for 7-10 days Smiley smile I've start looking but haven't solidified anything yet. We are hoping Southwest Airlines releases flights there (they were supposed to in October) because it's supposed to help prices drop. We are thinking of Maui & Oahu, splitting our time between the two islands! While we are there we want to scuba dive (we are certified), snorkel, swim, hike, do touristy things, and explore!

Our dream honeymoon was Hawaii or an Alaskan cruise! Hawaii was out because with only a week for the honeymoon I wasn't flying 20+ hours to spend 3 days there, and Alaska was out because our wedding is in January and they don't do cruises in the winter for obvious reasons (such as icebergs, lol).

We then thought we'd rent a cabin and do a romantic week in the snow in the mountains (we live in FL so we are sort of over the whole beachy tropical destinations since that's our everyday life), but we also agreed we lived close enough to do that at a later time.

We opted to go to NYC! FH has never been, and it's been years since I've gone, it's a total 180 from our normal life and FH has never played in the snow! I'm so excited to go to the big apple and see a Broadway show, take him to Times Square, stroll through the snow in Central Park and ice skate, and EAT! We really didn't want the "typical" all inclusive honeymoon, and living in FL we can go on very inexpensive cruises whenever we want to. We do plan to go to Alaska within the next 2 years hopefully, but for now we are headed to NYC for a snowy week in the city!

We are so excited😁 We have tickets to all four parks, we plan to go on the safari ride 🐯🦒🦁, take a boat tour drive on the Amphicar's across the bay, of course we are planing to relax and go to the spa, along with dinning at some of our favorite characters restaurants! And shopping! And we will be celebrating my birthday while on our honey moon as well!

Were taking a 7 day Western Caribbean cruise. True, we live in FL and could do with some cold weather (going in November), but this made the most sense logistically and practically. The snow can wait.

Initially we had decided Hawaii but just yesterday we changed to Australia! So excited for that. We are getting married in July 2020 but won’t do our honeymoon until November 2020 most likely due to several factors.

Can’t figure out how to edit my post above to add that we plan on hiking in the outback and scuba diving on the Great Barrier Reef and making a luxury beach stop in Fiji on the way back to the US.

My fiancé and I love grand adventures and I think this one will be perfect for us!! ☺️

We more than likely won’t get a full honeymoon due to finances and requirements at home if we do it won’t be until next fall.
But right after the wedding, which is 2 months away, we are going to Disney World where we have a timeshare to relax for a couple of days before jumping back into work.
Were staying at he boardwalk and have yummy reservations made. The park we’re planning on going to is Universal for Harry Potter. So, it’ll be relaxing unlike our other Disney trips! I’m excited to go relax

We are headed to Montana and staying at my family home on Big Mountain for a week, then flying to Florida and staying in my family home in Naples for another week. We’ll also do a little road trip to the keys since I’ve never been! We decided to not do anything crazy and out of the country because we went to St. Lucia for our engage-moon and stayed at an all-inclusive resort and while it was beautiful we didn’t feel like it was worth spending 3k to go to the beach when we can do that in the US for a lot less! This way we don’t have to stay in a hotel a bunch of other lovebirds have done the “lovemaking” in lol... gross.

We’re going to Cancun 🙂 We don’t have anything specific that we want to do yet, but we definitely want to lose ourselves a bit in the culture and check out some of the ruins etc. We also got an all inclusive deal so the resort will be having activities that we can go to everyday

We’re going to Palm Island in the Grenadines. But we just found out there isn’t any WiFi or TVs in the rooms, and that shorts and jeans aren’t allowed at the restaurants after 6:30pm and we’re STUNNED. I’m sure we’ll love it, but wtf 😂

We are going to Cancun and staying at the Excellence Riviera Cancun. I wanted somewhere we could fly directly too from Calgary (where our wedding will be) and I wanted something that would be nice but not crazy expensive. So we settled on Mexico. And, we kind of met in Mexico (we met on a cruise somewhere between Key West and Cozumel.

Another thing that was really important to us when choosing was that it had to be all-inclusive. And we wanted somewhere really relaxing. We could go out and explore if we wanted to, but wouldn’t feel bad if we stayed at the resort most of the time. Otherwise we would have picked Hawaii ourselves! We decided that we’ll go to Hawaii as a vacation in a few years since we know we’ll want to explore a lot.

We are going 2 days after our wedding in May and staying for 8 nights. I only just started looking into excursions. I know that I want to check out some Mayan ruins and FH really wants a good snorkelling experience. It’s actually on my list of to-dos today to research this. Smiley smile

I do suggest using a travel agent once you narrow down your ideas. I’ve used one for our past few trips and it takes a lot of stress out of things. And considering your wedding will probably give you a lot of things to do, it might be nice to know that you’re honeymoon is being taken care of by someone else.

We are using Unforgettable Honeymoons - the specialize in Hawaii if you’re interested. And the lady I worked with did a ton of research for me before I even sent a deposit.
