Where are you stashing all of your wedding stuff?

Maggie, on November 27, 2018 at 11:05 AM Posted in Planning 0 49

Favors, cake toppers, getting ready outfits, and various DIY projects - so many little pieces go into a wedding! It can be easier on your budget to gradually purchase your decor and attire items throughout your engagement, but where do you put it all while you wait for the wedding?

Where are you holding and organizing your wedding attire and decor?

Where are you stashing all of your wedding stuff? 1

I'm currently keeping all the wedding stuff in bins in my room. I still live with my parents so can't keep stuff all over the house haha!

A dresser drawer holds the small items: flutes, cutting set, gifts, center pieces ect. Flowers are in this baby bunk bed thing to help them stay standing and not get smashed. Flower basket and ring pillow are also there with a bag of extra crafts hanging from it.

Currently stashing it in the guest bedroom. We call it the wedding room for now but I can't wait for it to be a normal guest bedroom again and not feel like I need to keep the door closed! That room gives me anxiety right now!

Since we moved recently, I have kept any of the items we have purchased thus far at my parent's house. It was easier to do this, that way it did not get lost in our move. His parents have all of our alcohol purchased at their house, as well. We still have A LOT to purchase for our wedding now that I am thinking of it. I should get a head start with still being 10 months out!

Well it’s just in the closet for now. About a month before I’ll probably start pulling stuff out to organize it. But we don’t have too much more to get I’ll have to steam all the linens and they’ll need a home so it’ll be fun to see where those go. I’ll be so glad when January comes and it will all get cleared out!

You've already got a head start if you're storing things with your parents! Smiley laugh What's the most important thing you've still got to purchase?

Most of my decor is at my stepdads house in Charlotte NC. My dress and other little things are in my closet in Denver. Which means I’ll have to ship some things in advance.

I started using a spare closet that I normally keep my do not touch items in. But I am a little nervous cause I do have some of the centerpieces in there I might send everything to my parents house for safe keeping. she not going to remake things if I break or loose them.

Most of the little "details" things I've bought so far are in our closet, but I haven't bought much yet just for the sole reason that I don't want to be storing things for our year+ long engagement! I will start buying once we get into the new year and are only a few months out. The only other things we have that aren't in our closet are our rings. They are being kept in my mom's safe, since when I stored them in the closet with everything else I had a close call with misplacing my ring! No bueno!

Ooh, that's dicey, Maryann. How far away do your parents live? Is it possible for you to drive and transport the delicate stuff by yourself?

Not that far, and the fact that she is the one making all the stuff it wont be a problem. I probably got get everything a couple days before the wedding to make sure I have it. That way I don't have to worry about any issues...
