We were texting back and forth one night and decided to meet at Applebee’s on a whim, followed by a few bars. Super romantic lol. We’ve been back because, well, it’s Applebee’s and we enjoy half priced apps I suppose.

FH and I went to a college basketball game together for our favorite team. We've been back because we both love basketball!

Maybe not "romantic" but spontaneous which is better to me.

We went to my cousin’s restaurant. He picked the spot and I didn’t tell him it was my cousin’s so he wouldn’t get nervous lol. However, I was nervous I would run into family on a first date and it would be awkward cause I haven’t dated before lol. Two of my close cousins walked in as we were leaving and I noticed from the corner of my eye and quickly put my head down. We go back pretty often, especially for special occasions!

We actually knew each other for a couple years before we started dating. We play on an adult co-ed soccer team together, so we had spent a lot of time together already between games and post-game drinks at the bar. Our first unofficial date was to a Jimmy Buffett concert in Atlantic City, who is my favorite singer! Our first official date, which was actually a couple months after we started dating, was to a restaurant on the water and then walking through the waterfront park afterwards. We haven’t been back but we have been to multiple concerts for Jimmy Buffett since. He actually tried to propose on the beach we saw our first concert on, but my son ruined the surprise and I was nervous (because I figured out the surprise) and drank too many margaritas and had to pee, so he ended up waiting until later in the day.

Mello Mushroom!!! Is where we went on our 1st date!! I was getting off working and he wanted to take me somewhere simple for dinner. I was in my work uniform so I couldn’t go to some drinking restaurant. So he had the waiter bring me a coke in a can instead of a glass so everyone would know I wasn’t drinking while in uniform. We have been there several times since then!!!

Well, our "first date" was a week and a half long. She lived in the UK and I live in the US, so it wasn't exactly like we could just go for coffee. She and I had been IMing and calling. (This was before Skype, so it was all international calls.)

So she flew over here, and we spent a week and a half together. On the way home from the airport, we stopped at my ex-husband's house to pick up a computer he was repairing. The next morning, we had breakfast with my former mother-in-law with Alzheimer's, and my son with Asperger's. It's amazing she stayed for a second day!

Our agreement was that if that worked out, she'd come over here for a six month class she wanted to take in order to change careers. If things didn't work out, she could move down to the basement, in a room that used to be the nanny's quarters, and then move out at the end of the six months. That was 19 years ago, so I guess things worked out.

Our first date was a 2 day trip to Las Vegas! I was going with some friends on a whim I decided to ask him if he'd like to go with. He said yes and we make the trip back often. Batchelor and bachelorette parties were both in sin city and our minimoon will be in las vegas as well.

We lived about 4 hours apart, so he found a restaurant that was an hour from me and 2 1/2 hours from him, and that's where we met. We talked for the entire first hour, couldn't even read the menu to place an order! I'm sure the waitress was kind of annoyed. LOL We went back and got engaged there, and we just went and celebrated a month-iversary there as well... Love the place, NOW they are building an event center there, but we've already booked another venue. Oh well! Maybe we'll renew our vows there some day Smiley laugh

Our first date was at a gorgeous, large park where we sat on a bench talking for hours overlooking the pond. We regularly go there to walk our dog and visit the koi pond and the rose gardens. It's where he proposed, where some engagement pictures were done and where we'll get pictures done the day of the wedding!

We actually went to cheesecake factory. After 2 hours of talking, we decided to go to a movie. I really did not want to go. I was telling my sister how movies were a worst idea for a first date lol. I just didn't want the night to end so we walked around until the movie started. It was a day i didn't want it to end.

I've never heard of that restaurant, I looked it up and the closest one to me is in New Jersey. It looks awesome though, I'm going to check it out the next time I go to visit my family.
