If a bride wants to sell their dress after the wedding, why not save dough and rent a gown rather than buy?

The problem with renting a dress is that often there aren't a lot of rental places, and those that exist can't manage to keep enough styles/sizes to give you a good selection. We have only one rental place in our whole large city, and it has terrible reviews. So if you find one, that's great, but it doesn't work for a lot of people.

Also, because of the need for alterations, a wedding dress can typically be used only about three times. So if you buy a used one and resell it, you may well do better than renting. The dress is being used the same number of times, and you're eliminating the middleman.

Anyway, for reselling, I saw an article in which they compared the success of various places, and PreOwnedWeddingDresses.com came out the best. There is a small fee, but that's worth it to have a better chance of selling. That's where I managed to sell mine, even though I listed several other places as well.
