Where my ladies at?

Girls I need some serious help Smiley sad

I have no clue who to hire for my wedding photography and videography. My FH wants video and we have a set budget, but with everything we want I'm not sure we are going to find it. We are looking for engagement photos, 6-8 hours of photos, 6 hours of video, and a photo album along with the rights to the edited pictures.

Any ideas on good companies in the Boston area?

Thank you!

I don’t know any companies for recommendations, but if you have a tight budget you could try local schools (high schools and colleges especially tech schools) lots of schools require lots of outside work/ projects. You could ask if they have a few students who would be willing to come and film AND edit your wedding video. Say you would be willing to pay X amount and you would also write a letter of recommendation. Also make sure you get into a contract with them and both of y’all sign it and such. In the contract make sure you state that you will pay X amount 1/2 before and half after the wedding or you get the video. Also make sure you say they need to have the video ready and fully edited within 2 weeks (or whatever you deem fit). Usually the schools will give them credits for going (you may have to sign/ write something up saying they came out and videoed)
and they also sometimes even let them use the schools equipment (especially if a teacher comes along OR if the students are really good students and trustworthy). When/if you get ahold of teachers over the video&audio/tech classes you can ask for the best students or who they really think would do a good job.
Hope this helps! Good luck!! 😄

For photos I’d look for people starting out unless you want really high quality pics then I would just find some room and get a good photographer

Yes, I have! It's all I've pretty much been using. There are some options but I really don't want to overwhelm myself.

    Thank you!

Try Thumbtack app! Many of the vendors I’ve found there have been of decent quality based on reviews/portfolio but not as “big” of a name-so not as big of a price tag! Do you mind sharing your photo/video budget? I may be able to suggest some specifics if I can.

Eliane, I would suggest checking out Eivan’s. They offer packages with or without video, and are in your budget! Their website I believe offers a $300 print credit for setting up a phone meeting with them!

Hi Elaine, I am working with Rose Gold Visual Co. They are a husband/wife team and have photo + video packages for around your price range, plus they are LOVELY to deal with. Very responsive and professional but also super nice and chill. They are located in Northern CT but travel wherever. Their style is artistic and moody, which I love. https://www.weddingwire.com/biz/rose-gold-visual-company/caccfbd2383518dc.html Highly recommend! You get 2 shooters for the price of 1 basically.

Aaron Collins Photo was super nice and easy to talk to. We ended up picking someone else whose portfolio my fiance liked better but his work is really nice and within your budget!
