Where to buy bulk alcohol

Private User, on January 29, 2016 at 11:58 AM Posted in Planning 0 13

Our wedding will be hosted on family property in central PA. We have hired RAMP certified bartenders, but are required to supply our own alcohol. We will be getting kegs of beer from local breweries, but when it comes to wine and liquor do you have any suggestions at to where the most reasonably priced place would be to purchase in bulk in the PA, NY, MD, DC, VA areas or online? Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Hi Kellie, welcome to WW! Make sure to upload a picture for your avatar (instead of the default icons) so that we can get to know you and tell you apart from all the other posters. Also, you'll get more responses with a different picture, because the default icons can be associated with spammers/trolls Smiley smile You can do this on desktop or a mobile browser (just not on the app) under My Settings and Profile and Privacy Settings.

I would google local beer and liquor distributors and get a few quotes!

Total wine gives a case discount. I worked at one in NC and we didn't sell liquor, not sure if yours does up there

If you don't mind a trip to DE you'll save money because there aren't taxes. We're getting ours from Total Wine as pp suggested!

You can get liquor at Costco in VA! And they let you return what is unopened that you don't end up using. I had a friend do this and it worked well for her

You could trying asking your local liquor store for a discount. That's what I did. Because I was buying so much they gave me 10% off. It can't hurt to ask.

I don't know if y'all have Publix up north, but they gave us a discount when we bought more than 8 bottles at a time.

Just an FYI crossing state lines to buy alcohol is illegal, so be careful Smiley smile you can order cases of wine and liquor to a state store and return unopened bottles, but as you know PA isn't the cheapest place to buy booze.

Costco in VA does not sell liquor. Only DC costco can.
