Where to Buy Dried Hydrangeas

Megan, on December 12, 2012 at 4:13 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 2

Does anyone have suggestions on where to buy dried blue hydrangeas? I'd like to use them in my DIY centerpieces.

Have you checked "theflowermart.com"? They have some beautiful pale blue dried hydrangeas featured on their web page. The good news is that they are really large -- 10 inch diameter heads (LOVE those huge hydrangeas) with four inch stems. One bunch (consisting of 3 - 6 stems) is only $11.95. I don't know how many centerpieces you're doing, but given the size of each bloom, you'll cover a lot of territory. Place them in a vase or stick them (gently) into a piece of floral foam and you're ready to go.

Be gentle with your dried florals...they are delicate. If you handle them with care, they'll last for quite a while, and you'll be able to bring some of the wedding flowers home after the wedding. A tip to make them last longer is to apply a light misting of aerosol or pump hairspray or Dried Flower Spray to the top and bottom of each hydrangea head. Just a warning though, the hairspray technique could change the light fragrance of your dried flowers. Good luck!
