Where to buy pillar candles/holders in bulk?

Elena, on April 9, 2018 at 12:21 PM Posted in Style and Décor 1 10

Hi brides! We are getting married in Dec. and I am starting to get into all the smaller details. I am going for a winter rustic theme with lots of candles to create a romantic feel. The pic below is my inspiration. Where did you all buy candles and holders in bulk? I am looking for varying heights as well. Want to make sure I am getting the best deal!

I got amazing (though scented!) pillar candles when they went on sale at Kohls. They were between 6"-10" tall and they were $3-$5each on final clearance in the middle of summer (after Fourth of July sale). They also stacked coupons and we got them closer to $1-$3 each!

We still burn them on "date" 😉 nights because they smell amazing and have plenty of burn hours left!

Quick Candles, Candles4less, Yummi Candles, Shopwildthings,Amazon, Oriental Trading, Dollar Store, Ikea

They will all have better prices on some items and not others.

Seriously try your local dollar store, you will be surprised on what they have.

Quickcandles.com.....I bought a set of 48 different height cylinder candles along with the glass holders for $230. They came in quick and are excellent quality!

Awesome! I have never heard of Quick Candles before but I have seen it pop up several times on this site. Which set did you purchase if you don't mind me asking? And how many tables did you have? I am having ~140 people with a mix of round/long tables and am trying to approximate how many candles I need. I calculated ~65 but not sure if I am way off.

I cannot recommend goodwill and thrift stores enough! Especially during wedding season I’ve found a lot of brides in my area tend to donate all those decorative items instead of attempting to resell. I’ve found easels for $2-$5, those glass cylinder vases in all sizes for $.50-$1, assorted purple vases for $1-$2 (our wedding colors are purple and navy), huge glass serving platters and tiered dessert stands for $3-$5, picture frames of all sizes to upcycle.... seriously I think I’ve been super lucky there. When I post my BAM, I might just call my wedding the Goodwill wedding.

I had a "woodsy" Christmas decor style for my wedding and we used garlands and candles of varying heights for our centerpieces. My florist got a great deal for pillar candles at Ikea. They came in groups of 3 different sizes. I think she found the glass containers at Dollar Tree.

^^^ That is is the exact set that we ordered. Our wedding isn’t until September so I’m not sure exactly how many tables we will be using as of yet. We have about 100 people on our guest list so I don’t think anymore than 10-12 round tables and the set we ordered will fill exactly 12 tables. 65 sounds like a fairly decent guest though. If your working with a florist, I’d talk with them and get them exact table measurements along with discussing your garland/flower design and they can probably help you out with a pretty accurate guess as well.

I just realized I originally said 48, not remembering that we ended up going with the sets of 3 candles, not 4! Sorry 🙃
