Where to get an inexpensive album of boudoir photos made?

Bee, on May 1, 2013 at 2:34 PM Posted in Planning 0 19

I am putting together a book of photos as a gift for FH with boudoir photos. There are six large photos (I guess Iwill go with 5x7 size) and then I want to do a couple 4x6 photos and some small wallet size in collages. I have never made anything like this before I am not sure where is a good place to go. VP? Snapfish? I dont want hard cover, maybe a sealed edge and softcover. I dont see anything like this on VP. Any help? Thanks!

I was about to suggest MyPublisher, they have a Groupon so you could get their smaller pocketbook for $4.99... But I think they are all hardcover.

    Did you check Shutterfly? Walgreens?

The VP photo flipbooks are smaller than 5 x 7, I believe...

I used blurb to make our house book a few years ago. I also see books on Groupon. Walmart has them as well.

Just checked, the Groupon for MyPublisher is for a hardcover, but they do offer some softcover options.

Are you deadset against hardcover? I mean, $4.99 is a great deal, I've used MyPublisher a LOT (guest book, parents photo albums, smaller albums for my grandparents) and they do great word, the $4.99 includes shipping, so it's about the best deal out there.

    Here's the Groupon, JIC:

Here's info on their different books:

Oh, and if you want to use them to get a softcover book instead, they constantly email me discounts that I can share.

Reenski, not sure if you're aware, but your groupon link is showing up expired. Maybe this link will work? http://www.groupon.com/deals/gg-customizable-hardcover-photo-books-2?c=all&from_gifts=true&p=0

There's also $20 Living Social deal right now: https://www.livingsocial.com/cities/38-long-beach/deals/688084-20-page-hardcover-photo-book

Wow! Thank you so much ladies! I have never even heard MyPublisher, I am looking at it right now, thank you so much. It doesnt have to be soft cover, it doesnt matter that much, honestly I just assumed I would shoot for softcover since they usually cost less! :-)

Yep, it's free and pretty easy to use. My BFF just got the big book to make her wedding album, I got the pocket book as a Mother's Day gift for my grandmother... it'll save different books, too. Like I can still go in an edit my guestbook or the parents books, etc.

Made it easy to create close duplicates -- the one for my grandfather and grandmother are pretty similar, a few photos switched out. Same for a pocketbook my mom wanted to be able to show it off at work and home easily as opposed to the giant parents book.

Picaboo has 50% off. Its a great deal too. I used them for my engagement albums for the parents and I.

For a soft cover 6x8 it's 5 dollars. 8x11 hard is 15. Still not bad!

I want to do the boudoir but I'm scared to have racy photos of me sent to some website and made into an album! Someone else is looking at pictures at me! I may just take the pictures at home on my own (we have a camera w/ a timer) and then print the photos out on photo paper- DIY photo shoot Smiley smile

Future Mrs. S, I like your idea :-) My photos came from the photographer online on a secure server to look at and from there you can purchase prints to be mailed or the rights to the photo. You could always print at home...but the photographer would still see you naked! :-) I think you could easily do a cool DIY boudoir shoot. Maybe look at some photos online and get some ideas for things you could do yourself.

Yeah, that's a good idea! I will look online and figure out what to wear (I'll make sure I google this when I'm at home and not at work!) I'm sure he'll like whatever I end up doing because I'm making an effort! Taking racy photos is completely out of my comfort zone!

Mrs. S, just a tip, the poses I did were extremely uncomfortable! So I guess I would suggest you try very uncomfortable poses, because they look great in the pictures but they were hard to hold. It was like yoga (I hate yoga) Maybe if you have a big mirror you could set it up behind your camera so you can see yourself?

@bee, sorry this is off topic. How much did your photos/photo session cost?

Bunny- I think I paid too much (she was expensive) The groupon was around 80$ or 90$ and included two retouched photos, two outfits and an implied nude (white sheet) picture set. (so three 'looks'). Then, if you wanted additional prints it was $35.00 per digital image untouched, or $45.00 if you wanted it retouched. Same price for actual prints + 10.00$ shipping. I ended up with six prints and it was around 270.00$. Way more than I planned on spending. But, I can share a tip with you in private if you are seriously interested, just message me.
