Where to get beads for diy veil!

Courtney, on January 28, 2018 at 2:56 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 6
Hello everyone!

My Mom graciously offered to make veil for me to wear, after I fell in love with a veil at the bridal salon where I got my dress (just didn’t fall in love with the $250 price tag!). She’s great with a needle and thread, so much so that she made her wedding dress back in the 80’s, so I have full confidence in her abilities in making a fingertip length veil.

Getting tulle and a comb seems to be easy enough, but we have had trouble finding the beading to go on the edges (the pearl ones seemed easiest to find). The picture shows the beads I’m looking for... Any suggestions on where to get beads like this? Online? In store? Thanks in advance!

Do you have a Hobby Lobby nearby? My local store has a whole aisle of little glass beads like that. Good luck!

Hey there- gorgeous trim! I'm also doing the bread work on my veil and I picked crystals up at local craft store (using the weekly coupons), but those on the picture look like different size seed beads. I used those for my jewelery making. You can find those at Micheal's with the jewelery making supplies. They'll also have clear thread you can use there (don't forget your coupon!). Good luck!

If you can't find them in any normal craft store I would definitely try etsy. They have all kinds of stuff on there, I'm sure they would have them and if not something similar.

Thanks everyone! My mom said she checked her local places, but maybe it’s worrh another look.

@Janeen it’s GREAT to know that they are called seed beads! Jewelry is the one craft I haven’t done much of before, so I had no idea what to type into a search online.
