Where to honeymoon in July?

Gxoxo, on April 21, 2021 at 1:24 AM Posted in Honeymoon 0 10
We want to honeymoon in the USA, due to covid, but where in July? We already live where many vacation, Florida.

Also not Hawaii - we have a 6 month old so no long plane rides

What do you like to do? What's your budget? How long do you want to stay?

Obviously, FL is out, but are you beach people? City people? Go camping somewhere in the middle of nowhere people?

The more we know, the more we can help!

What about Savannah? Tybee Island? Or maybe Hilton head? There’s a Disney resort there.

I truly feel like even if you live in Florida, there are still plenty of different experiences for a honeymoon that doesn't feel like "at home." It's a big state with a lot of unique places. (Relaxed beachy vacations like Siesta Key and the Keys, nightlife/cultural places like Miami, historic places like St. Augustine, nature/outdoorsy places like the Everglades...)

That said, if you really don't feel you can find anything in Florida or really are totally opposed, Georgia is a short and easy drive, and also has a lot of different choices. There's Savannah, of course, but Georgia also has coastal/beach areas (like St. Simons Island and the Golden Aisles), mountains in the north, and countryside style locales.

Just keep in mind that Georgia, as much of the Southeast, will be a lot like Florida in July - hot and humid.

Tennessee is another great honeymoon location.

You’re so lucky! I wish I lived in Florida! Have you already explored every part of Florida that there is to explore? If you’re going in July, I have to say I would highly recommend not coming anywhere north east. I am in Rhode Island and restrictions are still very heavy here. I don’t think much will change by July. Have you ever thought about Myrtle Beach? Or Savannah Georgia? I would suggest the keys personally, but if you want to get away from the Florida beaches, then there’s always the Grand Canyon!
Nashville is also a big honeymoon spot. There’s also Nola but I don’t know how enjoyable it would be there in July if there’s still restrictions.

Yes we will! He’s breastfeed and don’t feel comfortable leaving him for a week.

Let’s switch because I’m over it! Lol
We live in Orlando and are getting married on New Smyrna Beach. I thought about the Keys! Never been there ironically.

Gotcha. So preferably something relaxing, child friendly, and not too far away. Have you ever considered a cruise? Disney has a very child/baby friendly cruise that leaves from Florida and goes to the Bahamas and the Disney private island. You can relax, be pampered and eat great food on the ship, then swim and relax on the beach or shop when it’s docked.

We're going to Key West for our honeymoon in June, but I imagine you want to get away from Florida, haha.

How about Tennessee? Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge — romantic options but also very family friendly. We love Oak Island, NC. It's pretty chill; you're not going to find yourself among spring breakers or any rowdy parties. Something very different from the Florida beaches — Nantucket? Niagra Falls?
