Just Said Yes July 2022

Where to start?

Stephanie, on October 7, 2019 at 8:17 AM Posted in Planning 0 5
Hello! My fiancé and I recently have decided a date that we are aiming for.. July 16th, 2022. I know it’s not set in stone because it will be based on the venue we choose. Is that where I need to start? All of this is very overwhelming and in my head locating our venue first will be the most helpful. Do you all think it’s too early to start looking? Is there anything else I can begin doing now? Thank you for your suggestions! Smiley smile

Yep! The critical order is budget, guest list, venue, because, like you said, then you'll have an official date. Good luck!

We started with a guest list, then venue, then budget (probably should have done budget first but i felt uncomfortable asking my parents what they would pay for). We got sticker shock by our first venue and then came to a budget really quick. I also advise you ask venues for an info packet with prices/dates available before you go. It would have saved us an afternoon.

Also, keep in mind higher price doesn’t always mean higher quality. I’m so happy with our decision because our venue was VERY inexpensive ($1800) so now I get to enjoy the rest of planing without worrying about every penny.

Yes. Once your budget is set, venue is a must. They book up quickly, nothing wrong with being organizedSmiley smile

I agree with all the other PPs. Budget is most important. Then a rough count for a guest list and then the venue. We wanted May and when we finally picked a venue there was only one Saturday left in May so our wedding date is May 30, 2020.
