Where to store purses/clutches on the wedding day?

Michelle, on May 1, 2021 at 1:47 AM Posted in Planning 0 14

Does your venue have a locked room to keep these safe or did you need to keep your purse with you for any reason (ID, phone, etc)?

The venue locked the bridal rooms, so we just left our stuff there. I honestly didn't keep anything with me.. not even the make up touch ups... oops.

DH left his stuff at his parents', so, thankfully, I had MY keys in my bag for going home. (He picked them up 2 days later when he returned the tux.)

The only real reason I missed my phone was for the baseball scores, but DH's aunt had our backs and kept us updated.

I forgot mine in the car, lol. Otherwise I probably would have left it at our sweet heart table since it had my phone in it for pictures. Or possibly the bridal suite. That’s where I left the getting ready/emergency items bag.

Good question! We did have a locked room for during the ceremony and one of my bridesmaids was in charge of moving my clutch to under the sweetheart table. I didn’t touch it till after the last song (surprised because I thought for sure I would need it). Hope this helps ❤️

For the wedding, we had a bridal room at the venue. The venue is a standalone museum and the bridal room was in the back, so you would have had to have walked through the whole event to get to it. Everyone left all of their stuff there, including my husband once he got to the venue. It was very convenient. In fact, I was massively disappointed to find they've ripped that room out and it is now just an open space (this was one of the reasons we chose a different venue this time around.) What a waste. Our prospective venue (a science museum) has a dedicated bridal room as well.

I really think all standalone venues should make space for a bridal suite that can be locked. I'm always shocked when I go to venues that don't have this. It was a HUGE relief on my wedding day, being able to be right at the venue getting my hair/makeup done and having a storage space that wasn't just under the reception tables.

I left everything in our cabin. You really don’t need anything during your wedding.

I kept mine in my bridal suite for my first wedding. I didn’t need my phone or ID as my bartender had already noted both my fiancée and I were over 21 and I couldn’t imagine texting anyone during my wedding lol. The bridal suite was technically a building only a few people had keys to, including my mom, so I wasn’t worried. I didn’t bring a clutch or lipstick or anything as it stayed pretty perfect through the evening. For this wedding, since I’m now on special medication that I might need and special medication that I’ll need taking the evening before on a schedule that might give me side effects, I’ll give my medication/side effect medicine to my mom who just brings her purse everywhere. That way I’m not in charge of anything lol.

We are able to keep everything in a secure bridal room. I’m not going to need my phone with me, but the room is connected if I need to quickly run up and grab anything. I am addicted to lipgloss, so I might make sure someone puts that on the head table for me 😆

I kept my purse and items I used to get ready in the bridal suite during our wedding. There wasn’t a thing I needed from it, and if I had needed to use the restroom, etc., that is the room I would have gone to anyways!

I kept a clutch in the bridal suite, which the venue allowed us to lock. I gave the key to my sister so I did not have to worry about losing it.

That’s a good idea on both counts.. having a secure location and someone keeping track of anything you need in an emergency

That does make sense when looking for a venue.
