Where you can fit music into your ceremony

Sarah, on June 12, 2021 at 4:57 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 2
Hi fellow brides to be!

I am Catholic, but my FH is not, and we are having to get his previous marriage annulled. It won’t be done in time for our wedding date, so we are getting married at our venue.
I’d like the ceremony to be somewhat Christian so I’d like to include a reading from the Bible at some point. I’m just very stuck on when to have music! We have hired a musician, so I want to take advantage of having him. There is at least one song I want him to sing during the ceremony…maybe two. Maybe one in between reading and vows? I feel like the ceremony is over right after the ring exchange. Is it stupid to have a song there before we are announced husband and wife?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!!!

Hey Sarah! I feel like I usually see music placed earlier in the ceremony, maybe around when the reading(s) happen. While I don't think it would be stupid to have a song at the end, it might feel a little awkward for you to just be standing there after the ring exchange waiting to be announced. Your officiant will almost certainly have example ceremony structures that you could borrow ideas from, but I like your idea of placing a song between reading and vows.

Maybe have a song play after the processional! It will give you time to take everything in and calm your nerves.
