Which anniversary?!

For those of you marrying on a day that is NOT your relationship anniversary, which date (relationship or wedding) will you make a bigger deal out of going forward? Or will you celebrate both dates?

We celebrate our dating anniversary, and acknowledge our wedding anniversary. I think it depends on the couple.

Every February 7th, FH and I celebrate the day we met. We also have a funny/cute name that we created for that “holiday” (long story). Our wedding is in October. So we’ll certainly continue to celebrate February 7th and also our wedding anniversary on October 30th.

We stopped celebrating anniversaries- there's too many!
We started dating on 10/14, got engaged on 11/23, had our civil marriage on 12/17, had our first religious ceremony on 12/19, and will be having our second on 06/26. Anniversaries aren't that important to us.

I acknowledge all the important dates (our first date, the day he proposed, our elopement/legal marriage, and our wedding celebration will all be different days), but we don't necessarily consistently celebrate them. Going forward, I do think we will celebrate the day we got married because it is the most convenient (it was supposed to be our actual full wedding celebration as well, but Covid ruined that for us). Our first-date-iversary, which is what we celebrated previously, is near Labor Day, my husband's birthday, and the absolute busiest time of year for me at work (I work at a college, so that's always right at the start of the semester when we have a bunch of new students on campus), so its very difficult for us to do anything special or significant then and sometimes I have to work long days or several weekends in a row around that time. Our legal marriage and wedding celebration date are both in the late spring, which is a lull time for me at work (this year our anniversary falls on Memorial Day) and it's much easier for us to go on vacation or even just take off a day and do something enjoyable.

We met on May 3rd, 2007

Got married May 1st, 2011 and that's the day we celebrate !!!

But every couple may consider it based on the importance.

I have a friend who celebrate the engagement day because it was a very special and unique moment to both of them
