The first two big decisions you need to make for your wedding are when and where! But which decision was more important to you?? Which came first for you? Your wedding venue, or your wedding date?

Date came first! Hindus have to find auspicious dates to have their wedding so we found a few auspicious dates in the time frame we were looking for, and of the 5 dates we had, our venue had only 1 of those dates available. And poof, we booked it for that date

Wedding Venue. I wanted an October wedding but the wedding venue I loved and wanted had two dates left. One in September and the other in November. So, we went with September since it’s my birthday month.

The venue was what we wanted.. And we had a small window we were available, and the only days the venue was available in June was on a Friday. So we went with it 😁

10.10.20We chose the venue after we picked the date. Unfortunately the date we chose is a popular one and most all venues were booked.

I picked the date two years ago & looked for a venue that was available. After I found Indian Creek, I was willing to put up one alternative date, if 10-10-2020 had not been open (8-8-2020)

Ideally the venue you want has a date you want. I started with a date that was extremely popular and at just over a year. It was 13 months from getting engaged, and I couldn't find the popular date I wanted. I eventually had to budge. You have to start with a date though. When you look at venues, get a list of their available dates and find out if they have deals for out of season dates. Also I had the added pressure of matching the date of my venue with the church as well. If a church or religious wedding isn't your cup of tea, you'll have a much easier (and cheaper) time planning and finding a date that works.

For me, date came first. And honestly, I chose it the day of my engagement! I got engaged on Christmas, so I got to see my cousin whom I knew would be my maid of honor. Originally we picked 10/10/20, but then I realized how popular that date would be. If it’s important enough to you, go for a specific date, but I would rather not fight other brides for vendors. After I chose my date (11/7) I started looking for venues based on what they offered. I LOVE the venue I found; they include so much (Cake, flowers, etc) that makes my job easier, it’s gorgeous, and their wedding coordinator is amazing! Doing it this way made my life as a soon-to-be bride easier, but everyone has different wedding dreams. Do what makes you feel excited about the big day!

Our wedding date came first. My husband’s mom passed away 6yrs ago and as a way to include her in our union, we chose to get married on her birthday! So we chose a venue that had our date available.

    Venue!

Funny you ask that because not even 24 hours of announcing our engagement, my MIL was asking, "when's the date???" I couldn't give her an answer yet because we didn't lock it in with the venue yet. I got engaged on Christmas and obviously, all the venues were closed. Go figure!

We did have a date in mind and luckily, we were able to get it Smiley winking

We originally wanted 10/10/2020 because of the numbers themselves however we just had to change it to 10/11/2020 because of availability.

We put a deposit on a venue and got our date that way. We were 100% sure what month (September) we wanted to get married but we didn’t care on the day as long as it was a Saturday. Its hard to find a venue with a certain day in mind especially if the venue is popular and people book out early

We chose a weekend that we really wanted based on other things happening in our lives and then we toured some venues and it just all sort of came together! We figured it all out within like 2 days, it was amazing!
