The first two big decisions you need to make for your wedding are when and where! But which decision was more important to you?? Did you fall in love with a venue and take whatever date they had open? Or are you set on a specific date to tie the knot, and willing to find a venue that works? Which...

Which came first for you? Your wedding venue, or your wedding date?

We picked our date first. The date has a meaning to us. Then we picked everything else around that.

Date came first! We wanted to plan a fall wedding before the holidays so we picked the final Saturday in September and luckily around us September isn't a very popular wedding month so the venue was slightly discounted and date was open!

We had a date in mind and we were blessed when the venue we were looking at was open for the same date we wanted which I was surprised because it is next year Smiley smile

Venue came first! I picked mine based on the fact that I loved it (lol!) and the fact that it was available for the time I wanted. The venue I chose is so elegant and gives a vintage feel all at the same time. It’s incredibly beautiful! What further peeked my interest in the venue was the owners story and their values. It made the venue that much more enticing, knowing that it was being run by such amazing people!

Wedding Date. We wanted to get married with the same numbers as our engagement date, so we looked for venues with that date open

My wedding date came first then we went looking for venues that we liked and had availability on our date. We knew when we wanted to get married and what month. All we needed was the perfect venue which we found. Can't wait. 8/23/2020 #journeytojackson2020

We picked the venue first! While we were pretty sure we wanted a fall wedding, it was more important for us to have a venue that fit our budget, style, and needs. The day itself would be special no matter which date we picked because it would forever be our day Smiley smile

I picked my date based on what I wanted. I didn't settle on a venue until I found one with the date I wanted open and that had everything I request. It's not easy to find that let me be honest. I was going to settle but my fiance refused to let me.

Chose my wedding date first. However, if The springs didn’t have my date available I probably would have changed it because I fell In with it.

Wedding date! Before even being engaged I've always been picky with numbers so I knew I wanted some date that the numbers went well together.

A little bit of both! We had a specific date in mind, but we were willing to be flexible if needed for the right venue. Fortunately the venue we fell in love with had our desired date available!

Hi, we picked the date prior to beginning our search at venues.

We are limited for choices of when we could be married next summer due to a lot of variables; My fiance's job will be up in June and depending where he gets his job will determine where we will move to. Also July is our wedding date & planning a wedding in a different state than the one we are living in has it's own challenges.
However.. There are far easier ways to do all of this than how we've had to go about it lol.

So we picked the date that was most feasible & then looked at what our choices were in the City we wanted to be married in aka one in his home state so his big family could more easily attend. Where as all mine have to travel from far and wide but are more able to do so.

Honestly, picking the date, the venue and my dress were the three easiest aspects thus far of the entire experience.

From what I've learned through this process, it doesn't matter if you pick date first or venue and go by their availability just do what works best for you guys.

I pick based on venue's availability. Using the availability dates, I determine the auspicious date.

Was going to pick our venue based on when it was available but then we found the perfect venue that wasn't available on our date. We then decided that the venue came first and changed our wedding date!

The date I choose at first was the same day as the DNC so the hotel rooms were more expensive for my guest so I picked the next available date to save our guest money.
