The first two big decisions you need to make for your wedding are when and where! But which decision was more important to you?? Did you fall in love with a venue and take whatever date they had open? Or are you set on a specific date to tie the knot, and willing to find a venue that works? Which...

Which came first for you? Your wedding venue, or your wedding date?

My date came first! My date is Oct 3 and that is my great grandpa’s birthday! He does when I was a little girl and I was his princess so it felt right to do it that day❤️

We had a month picked out (October) and picked one of the available weekends the venue we loved had open.

Definitely an answer that will depend on every couple! Ultimately we had the date before the venue, but it came more from a narrowing down process (we want to get married in spring....far enough away from major holidays and birthdays....etc) but we agreed beforehand that if we found our dream venue that we would be willing to change the date if needed.

Luckily, the dream venue was available on the date we had in mind!

We originally wanted a specific date but most venues are crazy booked in 2020! I think we're going to end up going with a date that our favorite venue has available Smiley smile Haven't booked yet, but almost ready to pull the trigger.

We picked our date first then the venue. But our venue changed hands and is newly remodeled and opened again this year so the first week they opened we put down our deposit, no problem.

Date first, no reason really. Just needed a time frame to plan for & then asked venues for availability.. luckily the one we went and looked at had that date open so it was perfect!

We started out trying to pick a date first. We quickly realized that was not the way to go as we changed our date 3-4 times before we found a venue. We decided after a few tours to just fall in love with a venue and be open minded about dates. That worked out MUCH better! Way less stressful!

    The date.
My photographer was the first thing I booked. That's the date she gave us. We took it and ran.

Venue! I had the venue picked out before I even met him and we made a “you can do this if I can have this” deal that got him to agree with the venue. We still went to tour the venue together (still befor a date was set) to kinda set in stone our feelings about the venue. I still adored it as I had since I was 6 years old and it made the wedding that much more real for him. We booked a year later when we FINALLY set our date.
