Did you fall in love with a venue and take whatever date they had open? Or are you set on a specific date to tie the knot, and willing to find a venue that works? Which...

Which came first for you? Your wedding venue, or your wedding date?

Wedding date was first. Being in grad school, I have limited flexibility in my schedule and we wanted to make sure that we chose a date that would have the least impact on my exams.

Thank you. It drove ppl nuts because we were on the fence about dates...it was a natural evolution. From "a couple years from now" from a Jan 2018 engagement... to July and the number 7 is special to us...to July 2019... To ****.

Wedding date came first for sure. We decided on it about a week after getting engaged.

Venue first. We had an approximate month/days that we were interested in and ended up choosing what the venue had available.

Chose date and venue about the same time. We started planning early -ish. Thankfully they still had our preferred date open. Even if they didn't have it we probably would have chosen a different date.

Guest list. I have a huge immediate family so that definitely came first for me.

Our venue came first then we chose the date based on what they had available. We ended up changing the venue and then changing the date from a sunday to a friday.

Wedding date was first, but the venue wasn't far after. At first we didn't think we could get it because we didn't live in the city and you had to, then his brother who does live there was willing to get it for us but the date was taken. Luckily there was a cancellation!

Venue! I had a range of dates in mind, because I really wanted it to be outside. (Jan-March OR Oct-Dec) Once the venue needed a "hypothetical date" to present an estimate, I gave them a random date based off of numbers that I liked (3.16.2020) and that became THE date. Smiley heart
