The first two big decisions you need to make for your wedding are when and where! But which decision was more important to you?? Did you fall in love with a venue and take whatever date they had open? Or are you set on a specific date to tie the knot, and willing to find a venue that works?

Which came first for you? Your wedding venue, or your wedding date?

    A little bit of both! I'm a teacher, so we knew a summer wedding date was a must for us because it'd be when I was off work and easier for me to do the last minute details. We were flexible with which summer date we got, so from there we based it off the venue. The venue was non-negotiable. We ended up getting a day that was a week earlier than we originally planned which worked out even better!

    We originally chose 10/10/20 for our date then went on a venue tour and fell in love with the venue, but they did not have that date available...we decided we loved the venue enough to change the date to 10/24/20

    Date first, then we found a venue we both loved. Our wedding is 2021 so getting the date we wanted was pretty easy.

    The venue. We knew we wanted it around the end of September or early October and they had dates to accommodate that.

    Venue first, then we picked our date. We knew we wanted to get married in June, so we picked the weekend that the venue had available.

    I found my dream venue. It will be an outdoor wedding so between venue availability and weather ( fingers crossed ) we came up with the date : )

    My date came first because we are both still in college and will be taking summer classes so we only had a two week break between summer semester and fall semester.

    We had a few dates in mind but really the venue was more important. Then next step was, did they have my date available. The wedding gods were working for us because both were open as well as the DJ I wanted!
