Which chairs for the ceremony?!

Which chairs for the ceremony?! 1
The attached picture is the setting for the ceremony. It's dry grass leading up to (mostly) oak trees. I think it will be too hard to move chairs during the event so I might have to rent a second set. My dinner chairs are cross back farm chairs with ivory pads to go with the farm tables. These are too expensive to rent a second set, although they became my preferred look for the ceremony when I thought I could just do a chair move and save money. So now I'm looking at chiavari chairs... Mahogany or white-washed wood for this setting? I like the color of fruitwood folding chairs but I'm just over the look of those. So overdone for weddings (cuz they are easy and cheap and I should save money and just do those but I'm stubborn!). Chiavari would save me about $700 compared to crossbacks. Thanks in advance for any advice!

If you like the look of the fruit wood chairs, I honestly would go for those. They may be over done, but your ceremony is going to be the shortest part of your wedding day, so I wouldn’t stress too much about which chairs to use for that portion.

The mahogany chairs would look beautiful in that setting and what a gorgeous setting you have ❤️

I agree with devotedlydavis and go with the fruitwood folding chairs since the ceremony will be such a small portion of the entire day! Mahogany chiavari would pop nicely against the dry grass, but they feel out of place somehow to me - the folding or farm chairs seem to fit the setting more.

Go with mahogany chiavari because that’s what you prefer. So don’t settle for a style of chair that you really don’t like. The mahogany wood color will look nice in that environment and the style will provide a classy, but not overdone, touch for the ceremony. Plus you’re still saving $700 with the chiavari chairs. So, I say go for it!!!

But, I feel you on this topic!! I’m SO over those standard folding chairs for weddings (in all colors, especially white). I constantly see the them and just can’t bring myself to rent those, regardless of them being less expensive. Those are the type of chairs our venue has for free, and I won’t use them. Our ceremony is on the beach, so we’re going with clear chiavari chairs. I realize that the ceremony is the shortest portion of the day. But it’s also the most important and meaningful portion of the day. So, it shouldn’t receive less attention simply because guests will only see it for about an hour (from their arrival to end of the ceremony). To me, the ceremony is a first impression and sets the tone for the rest of the evening.

Agree with this. Also the folding chairs are more comfortable to sit in
