Which do you prefer: Fingertip or cathedral veil?

I ordered a veil online to go with my gown and I got it and it's definitely not ivory, more like champagne. I can't return it so I'm back at square one. The veil I ordered was waltz length which I liked but I've seen some second hand veils that might work at a price I can afford and they're either...

I just can't decide which length I like best. Which do you prefer and why?

I like cathedral because I love the dramatic look. I also have a ball gown with a train so I figure if anything that will trip me up 🤣

I guess it depends on your dress. They both have their pros & cons. With the fingertip length you have practicality, cathedral the wow factor.

I prefer Fingertip. The back of my dress has designs I want to show.

Anyway you could link the one you bought? Looking for something similar for my ivory BHLDN gown too!

Well you'll only be wearing it for the ceremony and some pictures so don't be too worried about the softness since most veils are made of tulle which isn't a soft material to begin with. I love my veil and perfect for not spending hundreds on something that's worn for maybe 2 hours.

Cathedral for me. My dress has a low back and a lot of lace too, but you can still see it through a veil-they complement each other. Also ill
want my MOH to be able to hold it if the wind starts to kick up.

I bought both just in case but didnt end to using either for our ceremony. However, I did use the cathedral length for some pictures and I'm so glad I did! The one I bought was from Amazon for $23

The quality is waaaaay better than I expected. It came perfectly folded so absolutely no wrinkles and the tulle is so incredibly soft! I got the ivory shade (my dress is champagne) and its definitely true to color.

Super sheer cathedral!! You can take such amazingly romantic photos with the cathedral veil, so it’s totally worth it. And when the veil is sheer, any interesting designed or appliqués on a dress will still show through. I also imagine simply because it’s more fabric it’ll be less likely to float around in the breeze if you happen to be getting married outside.

I tried on both in the store. I thought I wanted cathedral length because I love the way they look in pictures... so dreamy!😍 But when I actually put one on, I just felt a little ridiculous and it felt like it took away from my dress. Fingertip felt much more comfortable both physically, and because I felt more “me” in it. Also, what is your venue like? I had a horrible vision of me trying to walk across grass in heels while dragging my veil and it getting stuck on a stick or something and yanking my head back.😳😂

My daughter bought a soft beaded finger tip veil she plans on working into her hair so it can be worn all night. She didn't want to pay for something that was only worn for such a short time.

But cathedral veils can be very pretty.

I’m going to be looking for a fingertip length veil for ceremony and photos. My dress has some detail on the back and since I am swapping into a reception dress I do not want to hide the details of my ceremony dress.

I thought I was gonna go with cathedral but I got a fingertip veil and I love it! I like that I can wear it longer and not worry about carrying it around and you can see more of the back of my dress
