Which is more important to you: your date or your venue?

When you made those first big wedding decisions, which was more important to you? Were you set on choosing a specific date for your wedding? Or did you find the venue of your dreams first and let everything else follow? Which was more important to you? The ‘when’ or the ‘where’? Photo from Art Paper...

We knew we wanted a Monday wedding so (harsh but honest) his family we dont want to be there wouldn't come if they didn't actually want to be there and we wanted fall so we just honestly randomly chose October 12 because that was a Monday that month our venue we fell in love with had available. Both are important but not non-negotiable

My date was more important to me. The venue was already picked but the date was the deal breaker.

Hi. We picked our wedding day based on what was important to us. I have found many wedding venues available for the date that we wanted with no issues.

Most definitely our wedding date!! We both didn’t want to get married when it was hot, due to the fact FH is wearing his dress blues. And as every bride knows wearing a wedding dress is uncomfortable when it’s hot. Plus I wanted and even wedding date. 12/14/2019 at 5:00 pm, please forgive my OCD.

Both are equally important! I fell in love with the first venue I visited. The grounds and interior are beautiful. The prices and perks they offer cannot be beat. I did move the wedding a week back which was no problem because I wanted the last weekend in June since I’m a teacher.

The venue was more important than the date. My fiance wanted a date easy to remember but our date was already booked. There were alot of things i realize i need to be flexible on, and since we knew our wedding date would be different than our acutual anneversary we were okay with it. Its not about the date as much as making it a day to remember!

We chose our wedding date, then toured venues we loved online. Just so happens that the venue we loved most was available for us!

Where was definitely more important! We got engaged in October of 2018 and they were already booking into early 2021! We have been together for 7 years and our date had just fallen on a weekend the year we got engaged so we couldn't have done that date anyway. But we were lucky that we wanted a brunch wedding so we were able to snag the Sunday of Columbus Day weekend in 2020 at the venue we wanted!

I’ve always loved Leap Day as a potential wedding date (too bad FH didn’t want to wait that long) but I like the idea of going on an anniversary trip or doing something extra special every 4 years. It gives you time to save and plan and every leap year you do something fun.

FH was set on a summer wedding. The specific date wasn’t as important as long as it was in the summer. I found a location that was affordable and beautiful in the summer and then we selected a date based on what they had open for the summer.

Definitely the where! I had my date picked first because I wanted to have a wider option of venues so I chose a Monday before a holiday. Knowing not many people would get married on Monday, I would save money and have more options!

We were flexible on the date so we went with what the venue could do for us. We are so excited to have our wedding in a beautiful vineyard in Palisade CO!!

Venue! and it just so happens the date we liked (10/10/2020) was available. We toured and booked it in the same day.

Finding a venue that was available for our day. The date was important . We had to find a month that was convenient to our life . As it will be our permanent anniversary. With birthdays and holidays run close together. Then had to find a date where is was not a busy season for work and kids are out of school. 8/9 it is .
