Which is more important to you: your date or your venue?

When you made those first big wedding decisions, which was more important to you? Were you set on choosing a specific date for your wedding? Or did you find the venue of your dreams first and let everything else follow? Which was more important to you? The ‘when’ or the ‘where’? Photo from Art Paper...

We did not pick our wedding date based on our venues availability. We decided Aug because because it is on a Saturday where all our families and friends are available to make it to our wedding. Having our friends and families coming together celebrating is what's really important to us. We want this to be a memory that'll last a lifetime. For our dream venue, it is still available as I'm writing.

I found a venue that was open for my dates actually. I didn’t look based off of availability though. I looked based off of a few bullet points I wrote down before hand.
•Do they have a solid floor instead of dirt?
•Is it a barn? (Or skytop, garden, beach, whatever you choose)
•Do they have a space for catering to serve, and space for an open bar?
•Do they provide tables and chairs?
•Is there a place on the venues site for the bride and groom to get ready?
•Is the staff available to help with anything or answer questions?
    •Is it an affordable price?
    •Is there designated parking?
•Do they have a list of vendors they can recommend if need be?
    •Is it perfect for photos?
•Is it handicapped accessible or even is there a way for family to not have to walk far to get to the venue after parking? (the place I chose provides a golf cart shuttle from parking to the venue)

There May be more bullet points for other people, or maybe even less. I was just specific about my wants and needs based around what I want and what may help my family out so it’s not as stressful.

I chose my wedding date based on my venues availability in the month of June. It was important to me to have my wedding in June and I really loved this venue

For us it is really about the weather in the PNW.

I actually picked out wedding date out of convenience! We were willing to move the date if needed just as long as we had the venue we wanted

When is more important then where. I can turn any venue into a dream, but you can’t control weather. So we chose June based off our climate and where we live!

Venue was the most important by far and we wanted either November or December. We originally had December 14th but our venue burned down a couple months ago! We found a closer venue that we love but it’s on Friday the 13th 😂 our original place ready burned down, let’s just layer on the superstitious bad luck

We actually decided our wedding day before we found our venue. It all worked out because the venue that we decided to go with had the date available!

It was the date for us. We were able to get the venues we wanted on that date, which was awesome, but we really wanted that last Saturday in December.

We were set on the date! We wanted to get married on July 4, 2020! It just also happened to work out that our dream venue was available for that day too!

The venue was most important to us. My Fiance and his immigrated here from Europe, so there are a variety of traditions we needed to incorporate, which is why finding the right venue to incorporate was so important.

For us the date wasn’t too much of a deal breaker it was more about the location what feels like you could have your wedding there and see yourself in that venue!

We booked our venue based on the date we wanted and over a year in advance. My fiancé and I began dating in November after months of talking and love the fall weather where we live so we opted to get married in November because it not only fit the season criteria we wanted but was the month we met! We actually found other venues we loved more that fit our budget better but we’re more difficult for guests to get to and lacked places for them to stay; therefore, we sort of “settled” on our venue for the ease it gave our guests, the fact that it still fit within our overall image for our wedding and while slightly over venue budget didn’t require as much decor which saved us on those costs and evened it out. While we love our venue it wasn’t our top choice.

The date is more important to us. We originally are not from the state we live in now so we are not attached to any location.
