Which is more important to you: your date or your venue?

When you made those first big wedding decisions, which was more important to you? Were you set on choosing a specific date for your wedding? Or did you find the venue of your dreams first and let everything else follow? Which was more important to you? The ‘when’ or the ‘where’? Photo from Art Paper...

My date was extremely important to me. It is my parent's wedding anniversary.

We're just getting the planning going, but one of the first things we decided was the date. My FH and I settled on two dates we were comfortable with and made our venue tours based on who had those available. Because we started two year in advance the dates being open hasn't really been an issue.

I'm a numbers person so the "when" was more important. Plus, it's a backyard event so the "where" was irrelevant Smiley smile If a certain location was my dream location, the date wouldn't matter as much.

Hi! No I’m not set on the date. The place is definitely more important then the date! Although I would love for it to be fall

A little bit of both for us, but ultimately the venue led and the date followed. We had a general time-frame we were looking for we just chose whatever date we could based on our venue choice Smiley heart

Our date is the date he made our relationship official, so the date was pretty important to us!

We had a range if dates that didn't fall in anyone's birthday or a holiday and chose what the venue could offer us!

The where was most important. But at the same time if the when wasn't in a target range, it also meant that the venue wasn't an option. It was a 70/30 type thing, with where being most important.

The venue. There weren't many places that could accommodate both our sizable guest list and our budget. Luckily, the venue had a few open weekends in the month I wanted, so I didn't have to choose between the two!

My fiance and I wanted to be around late March early April. We live in Florida and we wanted before summer and hurricane season and not to close after the holidays. Our main concern was to book the Church and then the venue.

My fiancé and I were set on a Texan wedding❤️
    💕Our date is June. 26, 2016💕
(Pictures used were gathered from Pinterest, not my own)

    1. We wanted to get married on a Sunday.

    2. The theme fits our love (we love our state and the countryside)

    3. Aside from the weather (especially here), summer is one of the cheapest time to get married. We will have semi casual and push the time for later in the day giving it time to cool down.

    4. Families will be available around that time and we have given enough time in advance to have them plan ahead.

    5. Pushing the marriage two years from now helps my fiancé and I not only give us enough time to plan but finish up school, get comfy in our jobs to come, and even find an apartment (really don’t want to be married and then go back home with mom and dad) Smiley smile

Both! This is how I ended up booking my date/venue before I was even engaged!

I found my dream venue over a year before I got engaged. My mom and I visited the venue and both agreed that was where I was getting married. I also knew I wanted to get married in September - my favorite time of year.

Both my venue and the month of September are very popular and so I kept a close eye on the venue's calendar to make sure they still had dates available. About a month before I got engaged I check the site and there was only one date left in September. So that was it! I called my mom and we paid the deposit that day to secure the last date!
