Which is more important to you: your date or your venue?

When you made those first big wedding decisions, which was more important to you? Were you set on choosing a specific date for your wedding? Or did you find the venue of your dreams first and let everything else follow? Which was more important to you? The ‘when’ or the ‘where’? Photo from Art Paper...

The date was more important! I have a thing for numbers. There’s tons of venues out there, but only one 10.10.2020.

I picked the venue because it was beautiful. I want even sure if it would be available for the date I chose, but I just happen to be lucky to find it. I actually picked the venue because of its beautiful location.

The venue is most important to me. I am flexible on the date. Mainly because I want the wedding of my dreams. It could come true on any day!

The venue was more important than my date, luckily I was flexible with my dates.

I would say venue and month were the most important. WE knew we wanted to get married in April or May 2020 at a venue that had an outside ceremony and indoor reception space. Once we found the venue we preferred, we checked to see if they were available for the spring!

We knew we wanted a late spring early summer wedding. The venue we fell in love with had one date in June and we booked it!

I originally wanted our wedding date to be the same as our dating anniversary, but it fell on a holiday weekend, which meant increased prices. We definitely knew we wanted a date in September because it is the month we first started dating, got engaged, and now getting married! It will be a whole month celebrating love.

The venue was more important to us. We went in with an ideal date. However it wasn’t available so we pushed it back a week, which was completely okay (:

Venue by a mile. We wanted to get married in the nicer weather, but weren’t particular on dates (no meaningful ones for us in the spring).

We hand picked the date then found the venue, which had its challenge because we picked a very popular date! 10/10/20

The when is (so far) more important to us. We will have been together for 10 years in 2020 and our date is 10/10/2020. I have always wanted a fall wedding, I love the symbolism, and I love the symmetric date. Finding a venue has been more challenging that expected so this might all change, but we recently decided to stick with the date and make it work location-wise Smiley smile

I had my date in mind specifically (October 3rd) and it worked out to be a Saturday in 2020. I also knew I wanted an outdoor wedding so I looked around and found Squaw Creek in Marion IA. There was a lodge available with a ceremony space directly outside overlooking the lake so it was perfect! I also realized that around October is considered “out of season” for most parks, so to rent the space for the entire day was only a little over $500! Plus it comes with bathrooms, fireplace inside, and a full kitchen!

The venue was more important to me than the date. I had a month I wanted and I took a date the venue had open within that month that we liked the numbers on.

The where, although June 20,2020 would have been perfect since it fell on our 11 year anniversary. However, I love the venue...

I picked it based on the date and chose my venue around the date I wanted.

This is something I have really struggled with. I wanted to be married in April but the venue we wanted doesn't open until May. Everything else we liked that would allow for an April wedding is out of our price range. I decided to give up my April date after many discussions and stress dreams haha. It's going to all be worth it in the end.

I’m set on a date but we’re having such a hard time finding a venue (not just because of the date, but just because it’s hard)!
