Which is more important to you: your date or your venue?

We found a venue that was open for the date of our wedding!

The date was the most important to us. After a giant communication problem with the first venue we looked at, they offered alternative dates and we looked elsewhere. And we found a team that was more communicative, more transparent on pricing, and respected how important the date was to us.

The month we are getting married on didn’t really matter, we just wanted it to be a 22 of a month, and we didn’t want it during a cold month! 22 is a very special number to us both! We found our venue this past March, 17 months before our wedding, so we could have our dream venue!

The date was important to me but not 100% needed. It was just cute.

    Started dating 11/27/2009
    Engaged 8/29/2017
    Married 9/28/2019

    so the dates are 27,28,29

Being a teacher I preferred a July or August wedding. We didn’t have a set date and had our pick of weekends for summer 2020 at most venues. This made a big difference in choosing our venue. We were able to choose the place we loved because we weren’t “married” to a specific date!

Well our original date was Oct 26 2021 , that's our anniversary date but since it lands in a week day we decided to get married Oct 23 2021. So that was pretty easy and it's settled for that date. The reception will take place at his parents backyard. We thought it'd be perfect. It'll give it that intimate ,family oriented, love vibe that we want. The backyard is pretty big and will be able to fix it up pretty nicely! I'm actually excited for the reception. My mother in law and I are working hand on hand with it. They just bought the house less than a year ago and I think it'll be a celebration that will be memorable for us and their home . So it helps a lot and I thank her for letting us celebrate such an important date for us in her backyard.

Venue was first choice for me and then date came second. Being that we were getting married in a barn I preferred a fall date over spring.

The venue for sure. I chose the St. Louis Cathedral in New Orleans and I took the earliest date available in January. No special meaning to the date just wanted it in early January. And I loved my reception venue and they happened to have availability that matched my church ceremony!

The date was most important to me because it marks 7 years since we started dating. Not to mention I love October 4th, there’s just something about it. On top of that my in-laws offered up their brand new house for the venue and so I didn’t need to worry about it!

We decided on our date first or around when we wanted to get married. Then we talked to our parents about it so we went back and forth on what to do because my FH grandparents wanted a local wedding and they live in Raleigh NC. They would only have to travel 3.5 hours but had an issue with that. My family is traveling from Maine, Maryland, Pennsylvania and Tennessee so really it was up to us. We ended up deciding on renting a beach house which my parents are paying for and his parents will be cooking for the reception since it is a smaller wedding. I think it is easier to decide date first.

My fiance and I picked 2 dates that we wanted, and since we were looking almost 1.5 years in advance nearly every venue we looked at had the date available.

Venue, hands down! My family has the superstition of the entire day adding up to an even number. As long as that date works, we are gold!

I wanted anything within the month if October. I didn't have a date so much as a month/year. I wanted 2020 because my partner and I met in highschool, but he doesn't remember me. Hindsight is 20/20. So for us, it was more of the where than the exact when.

Our date at first wasn't an issue until after we agreed on the date if June 13. Which happens to be the month and original year we got together! It was fate for us to be married that day! And then luckily we were so far out our venue had it!

For us, the location was definitely priority. We wanted to do a group vacation, so it was important to find a place that worked for everyone's (ourselves and our guests') budget.

We chose the date and then found the perfect venue and they were still available since we were planning over 2 years out. However, we’d now change the date for the venue.

We wanted to have it in July because that was the month that we started dating. We picked 4 dates for July 2020; once we reached out to our venue, we picked the date based on what dates in July 2020 that were available .

Both! Date because it’s our anniversary and I specifically wanted a venue with a rooftop terrace for the ceremony.
