Which is more important to you: your date or your venue?

When you made those first big wedding decisions, which was more important to you? Were you set on choosing a specific date for your wedding? Or did you find the venue of your dreams first and let everything else follow? Which was more important to you? The ‘when’ or the ‘where’? Photo from Art Paper...

We chose the venue that we loved and then chose from the available dates in the month we preferred. We did, however, book our venue 16 months ahead of our wedding date!

We wanted Spring and were pretty open. And ended up with June 27th due to the venue.

For me the date was most important! We picked the month and then I saw that my lucky number fell on a Saturday!! So it was meant to be... From that point on I told my mom that is the date and was like we'll you have to make sure you can find a venue... Well that ended up being no problem! We found the perfect venue and they were able to accommodate our date!!

Date was the most important and we’re over a year out so venues were all wide open!

My date was a little more important because the right venue would come along and work for us

We wanted 10-10-2020 because it was such a cool date, but then we fell in love with a venue that was already booked that day. So I guess that means the venue was more important for us!

I was definitely more worried about the venue. The weather is so unpredictable at this time of year.

Venue, because we had a really hard time finding what we needed. Want.... that's one thing. Need.... I mean you can't not go with what you really need. I bet I got quotes from every venue in my city (and honestly, around here, that's pretty much literally every place that has a certain square footage, regardless of where or what it is) before we finally settled on something that would work for us and also be within our budget.

We had a range of months in mind (summer through mid-fall) to avoid chain control for those driving to our destination wedding. Once we found the venue, we were very flexible in terms of which weekends they had still available in those months!

I really wanted the date October 10th, 2020 so I found a venue that was available! If that date was unavailable, I would have been flexible but I was happy to find a venue I adore with that date.

Well it started off as date and then once realised we weren't finding venues for that date, we switched it up. When we went to view a venue and they asked what our date was, we just said "what Saturdays do you have open in March and April" LOL.

Both but if I had to choose, I would say our date. The actual date doesn’t mean anything to us but it was the only weekend that worked for my FHs school schedule which would allow us to take a honeymoon right after the wedding (this was a non negotiable for us).

We got a friday, cause our venue had already all Saturdays for the next year, I was in love with the venue and didn’t want to wait.

For my fiance and I, we were pretty flexible on our date. We wanted to find the venue that fit our vision and budget. Once we found that, we then discuss dates depending when they were open.
