Which is more important to you: your date or your venue?

When you made those first big wedding decisions, which was more important to you? Were you set on choosing a specific date for your wedding? Or did you find the venue of your dreams first and let everything else follow? Which was more important to you? The ‘when’ or the ‘where’? Photo from Art Paper...

The venue for sure. We are eloping next month vs planning a traditional wedding so we wanted a beautiful backdrop. We chose the White Mountains!

The when is more important to me, I will easily change the location to keep the date the same!

Both were equally important but because this is my third wedding (which I tried hard not to have) I let my FH make all of the decisions. He picked the date, he set up the meetings with venues, and he chose the one we're having it at with my approval. If it was up to me, I would have chose the venue first. Got to make sure your date is available. I am pleased with the one we're having it at because everything is included!

I am currently in the process of picking a venue. My fiancee and I have an important date that we want and an ideal space in mind. It is easier to avoid compromising when you pick a date that is farther into the future, which also is amazing when you are paying for the wedding without help from the family because it gives you time to save money.

Same here, although 6/20/2020 would have been super special, considering it will be our 11th year together. The date was booked so we settled for 6/6/2020

At first I wasn’t too set on the date when I was looking for a venue. But when it came down to my top 2 I picked he one that had the date open.

My FH is a firefighter and in order for his fire brothers to attend we could only choose from every third Saturday, which cut back on options significantly. We originally would have liked to do the first weekend in October because his parents and brothers anniversary’s, as well as our current anniversary, fall on that weekend but unfortunately that wasn’t a Saturday that worked with his schedule. After we realized this, we said forget the date, we’ll find a place we like and choose a date they have available. Everything ended up falling into place when we found the venue we LOVED and they had the next weekend in October available. We’ll be getting married on 10.10.20! Everything happens for a reason.

The when was more important to us as we were together the first time 01-11-12 and we are 1 year 1 month and 10 days apart so 0111 and 1110. so for us, the 11-11-22 is perfect as it has our 111 in it and also 11 +11= 22 and 22+22=44 my dad's age that year and we are both techies and love numbers so it fit perfectly!

The date was important to me, as well as the location of the venue. I have always wanted to get married by the water. The location we picked is right on the water and had the date we wanted available. So it was a win win

My venue was more important then my date. I am only able to get married in 3 months span of the year. I was shooting for October/November. My venue didn’t have that so went with December 5. I had a very hard time finding a venue I loved and I didn’t want to lose that by the day

Our date was the most important. We wanted to get married on the same day as our anniversary as a couple. So we waited until the day fell on a Saturday. We also started looking at venues two years ago when we first got engaged and fell in love with one venue in particular. Since we knew so far in advanced when our wedding was, there wasn't a way to book our venue until exactly one year out. Due to all the waiting, I have to say that the venue has become just as important as the date!
