Which is more important to you: your date or your venue?

When you made those first big wedding decisions, which was more important to you? Were you set on choosing a specific date for your wedding? My venue! I was really open to any date but I specifically wanted mountains and snow so that really gave us all of winter to choose a date.

I chose based on availability of my venue. I had a time frame and went from there!

Definitely the venue. The date didn't matter at all. We knew we wanted to get married in June 2020 and we picked the last Saturday of the month. Our dream venue was unavailable on that day so we just went with the 13th because that date was available. I know most couples get married on special dates such as the day they got engaged or the day they first started dating. Both of those dates for us are early in the year where the weather is too unpredictable.

Both are equally important. We found a venue we love with the date we wanted and we booked them.

The when. We chose our date because it not only falls on the spring equinox but also the death day of my grandfather.

For my fiancé and I we knew we wanted to get married in October. We only went to one venue and we fell in love with it. We looked at their availability for October and they were booked for next year, so we are waiting until 10/9/21. So for us it was a little of both.

My venue and date were equally important. It may seem unreal; however, because I was able to book about 2 years in advance, I got the venue I wanted on the date I wanted. It is a perfect fit and we were able to get an amazing price!

BOTH! Our wedding isn't until 2021 so we really have an opportunity to do both. I HATE the cold so we can't do winter and my fiance hates the heat so summer was our of the question. We live in the Hudson Valley and nothing beats the Hudson Valley in the Fall. It's stunning. And with location we wanted a rustic barn wedding and again becouse of where we live there are so many options!

We knew we wanted either August or September 2020. There is a popular barn venue near us (which is what I wanted) but its pretty pricey and out of our budget. A new venue opened near us about 2 months ago (a brand new barn) and we fell in love with it! It's the only place we looked at and about 2 weeks after we went to their open house we were signing the contract. As far as picking our date, we just looked at the calendar for Saturdays in August and September. August 15th is a Saturday and just so happens to be the day that we met in 2015, so that's the day we picked. Everything just seemed to fall into place which made it easy!

Our wedding date is our 7th year anniversary! so that was really important to me, but we also found our dream venue as well. we planned out very far in advance to make sure we got what we wanted.

The date ended up being the non-negotiable for us. Going into the process I really thought that I would just pick from whatever dates my dream venue had available, however once I had my heart set on a specific date I wasn't willing to budge.

The date came first for me because we needed to plan around law school/grad school & new jobs to find the perfect date to take time off. Mainly we needed time to actually plan the wedding while being in school!

Venue. I couldn't care less about the date. We have already been together for 7 years so it was more about the where.

We found our venue first, and were super lenient about the date. Turns out, the date was actually perfect for us (I'm not super into numerology but this was kind of cool) Our wedding will be 9/3/2020...my lucky number is 9 and my FH's number is 33. 3x3 happens to be 9! 😂 We didn't even realize that until weeks after setting the date! 💕

Venue for sure! So long as you look and book far enough in advance, there should be sometime in the ball park available for you!

I wanted my actual anniversary date. It’s on a Sunday and that might be inconvenient for our guests, but it’s important for us!
