Which is more important to you: your date or your venue?

When you made those first big wedding decisions, which was more important to you? Were you set on choosing a specific date for your wedding? Or did you find the venue of your dreams first and let everything else follow? Which was more important to you? The ‘when’ or the ‘where’? Photo from Art Paper...

The venue and date have equal importance to us. Our date is symbolic and the venue has to be able to handle all your want on the big day.

First we picked a season, then a date range that we were okay with. Then we starting looking for places. Most had one or two dates available in our range

Both. However, as long as the date falls on the month and day that we want, we are all good. We are still venue shopping with the understanding that we want our vision displayed wherever we choose.

My date for sure. I didn't want our dates to get confusing. We got together on October 9th, 2016, got engaged on October 9th, 2019, and will be getting married on October 9th, 2021 Smiley smile

We're stuck on the date. So now it's a matter of finding the perfect venue!

I picked my dream venue first!! Once I found my venue I checked their availability and because I was booking two years out they didn’t have anything booked around the time I was looking to get married! I always knew what time of year I wanted to get married and had it narrowed down to a specific month and two weeks out of that month! I wasn’t dead set on it being a Saturday but after further discussion with my fiancé we splurged and decided to go with a Saturday wedding! In the end we got our dream wedding and the date we wanted so it worked out perfectly!!!!

Both are equally important, date was chosen in memory of my beloved date and the venue was gifted to us by a dear friend.

My fiance picked the date and without knowing its both of my grandparents wedding dates, I have lost my last grandparent within last couple of years so I love I can get married the same day they did.

So the original venue I picked was because when I was a little girl I always imagined my wedding there..but the date I picked was already booked so I took it as a sign it wasn’t meant to be! The date is more important because it’s the date we started dating..it means a lot so I figure the venue can be picked based on that.

The date was more important. October 10th was my father's birthday so I thought having on that day would be a way to include him. I wish it wasn't on a Saturday, because that's the most expensive day of the week to get married. Fall break is the week before, so I won't have to take days off before the wedding, but I also can't take my honeymoon until December.

The date was more important for the simple fact that it is FUN! My Fiance is a Physicist and plays with numbers all the time so we thought it would be cool to have a repeating infinite number as a date 2∞ (02/22/22). I also love a play on words and the date happens to fall on a TUEsday.. so I will have some fun with puns and such! I just hope we can book a venue for that date (hopefully to start at 2pm). Fingers crossed!

My fiancé really wants a summer wedding and so the date isn’t really set we are more open about it. But the venue is extremely important to me so the venue time frame will determine our date.

I’ve always wanted to get married in June and fiancé loved the idea and was totally in for a June wedding. I live near a really cool museum called Naperville Settlement that rents out their chapel for wedding and when we started thinking and talking about marriage we really wanted to look into it for our venue. I would say equally important! Naperville Settlement was our top choice and we are thrilled that we booked it in time for our big day!
