Which is more important to you: your date or your venue?

When you made those first big wedding decisions, which was more important to you? Were you set on choosing a specific date for your wedding? We knew we needed (not wanted) a specific date because of a work vacation policy for my job. So we started our search early (18 month out) so we would have our choice of venues on that day and not be scrambling to find something next year. We got what we wanted Smiley smile

The perfect date. We wanted near Halloween but not too close. And the weather in Tennessee is so unpredictable that October was the best bet for cooler weather

I would say both however, I would say I picked that date because I liked the way it lookd and sounded lol. June 20th 2020 also because my sons birthday is in may, wedding will be in June and my birthday is in July so three months of non stop partying! 💜

My wedding venue had my date available. I checked available dates on all potential venues before visiting. Of course I also found the perfect venue on trip number 2 and all others were erased from memory

The when. I chose my date to match one of the most powerful days on the Wiccan calendar; Samhain, or Halloween

We chose our wedding date out of importance. Our dating anniversary is on July 01 and our engagement anniversary is on July 02, so we just had to plan our wedding for July 03!

Ultimately I think it was where for me! I had a general idea of what month I wanted and then found my venue and picked a date in that month they were available

For my fiancé and I we had already chosen a weekend in June (5th or 6th). We looked at venues that were available those days and compared costs, as we had a budget. We went with the one that cost less but it was the one that we both loved since the others my fiancé didn’t like but he loved our venue immediately! Our wedding will be Friday, June 5th, 2020!👰🏻

We chose our venue and the month, but the exact date wasn’t as much of a concern for us. Just wanted October in the mountains!

I had a date range I was trying to stay within, and I searched for venues that had availability within that range. I just feel super lucky that my number one venue choice had space on my preferred date!

We have a venue in mind, but haven’t finalized yet, luckily our date is on an unpopular day for weddings. We picked the day and then went searching for venues and we picked it for a very special reason.

The where was more important. I knew I wanted an October wedding, and I knew I preferred late October but I was willing to push to early November if necessary. I chose my wedding date based on it being a Friday in late October, and not on our engagement day or niece’s birthday. We’ll be married 10.30.20 because luckily our venue choice had that open, and now I just get questions like, “Is it Halloween themed?” No lol

For us our date was important, but the venue's availability was also a very important factor. We choose our date, 10/03/20, because it will be our 5th anniversary and it fell on a Saturday. We got in engaged June of 2018 and dedcided we wanted to take two years to plan the wedding, figuring it would be less stress on us and give us more time to save up for the big day. So we thought it was perfect that our 5 year anniversary fell on a Saturday in 2020. When we visited our venue we instantly fell in love it with. Thankfully they had our date open, but they were booking fast so a day after the visit we signed out contract and sent in our deposit. It as as though it was all meant to be.

We weren’t so preoccupied with the date, the right venue mattered to us and once we found it, we just got a date in the season we wanted.

My wedding date was more important than my venue. I always knew i would get married in some type of garden and ironically I’m getting married at a botanical garden.

My date was more important to me due to it being on my grandparents wedding anniversary. Although, I think if you really want a specific venue, it is easier to not have a date set.

Originally, we looked at venues without a certain date. We booked our venue and told our families. Come to find out it was my grandparents anniversary! So now I find the date just as important as the venue.
