Which is more important to you: your date or your venue?

When you made those first big wedding decisions, which was more important to you? Were you set on choosing a specific date for your wedding? Or did you find the venue of your dreams first and let everything else follow? Which was more important to you? The ‘when’ or the ‘where’? Photo from Art Paper...

I chose the date in order to avoid any major events in the city. It's in the summer so I had to avoid Pride, July 4th, the air show, etc. Luckily the venue I wanted the most is available, we inquired about it over a year in advance.

The 'where' was more important to us, we simply wanted a small bed and breakfast wedding in the mountains. We had our pick of dates!

The date was most important. My original date was not available, no matter where I called and checked. So after speaking to my FH, we decided on another date. I then called my dream venue and placed my deposit on the new date.

The date is more important because it’s around the time we started dating (10/21/10) so our wedding date is Saturday 10/24/20 because we don’t want to inconvenience anyone by having a wedding in the middle of the week.

We wanted fall weather because we wanted cool
weather for our wedding and we wanted our date to be far from the major holidays (i .e Thanksgiving). We ended up picking our wedding date based on making our wedding more affordable so we’re getting married on a weekday Smiley smile

Venue was most important followed by month. We were flexible with any of the dates in September except the last Sunday of the month (someone else booked). We ended up choosing Labor Day weekend even with the substantial up charge due to the likelihood more family/friends will be in town that weekend.

My date came first. All the people in my immediate family that have stayed married have all been married on the 10th day of the month for example 1/10/1970 is my grandparents date. So our date is 10/10/2020 (October is also the month we had our first date). Luckily we found a venue that we really like that still had our date available (very popular date). We would have been a little flexible on the date if we had found a venue we loved that didn’t have the date availabile though so both are important.

For me, the venue is more important because where you get married speaks volumes about your personality and style.

Our date was moved to accommodate our new venue, but it was only a 1 day difference.

The venue. I picked the wedding date based on the venue rate. We are getting married at a beach house. The house rate is cheaper in May than in July. Therefore, we moved our date to May.

The venue was the most important so I went with any date they had available at the end of May!

The venue was more important, but we were thrilled when the date worked out too!

Venue for sure! The date came after and we ended up loving the date we picked in the end.

Though the date is very important, I believe the dream venue is the most important. Having a sub-par venue on any given date isn’t ideal, and for any couple to go through the crazy cycle of setting up a wedding; we all deserve the perfect place to celebrate the beautiful Union of incredible people.

I picked my date and venue well in advance so I had no worries. (A year and a half in advance)

Both were important. I figured out the where a few years back lol, but the date was something new to tackle, but we picked it.
