Which looks better??

Cece, on December 13, 2021 at 10:09 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 16
I’m stuck! Which "look" would look better in this space? I’ve been staring at pictures and going back-and-forth for months! Help!

OPTION 1:

Which looks better?? 1

OPTION 2:

Which looks better?? 2

Ooh I'm torn on this one!! I think I'd have to say the black tablecloths, because it matches the fountain and kind of ties the two spaces together! Also, the black tablecloths won't show spills/stains throughout the night. I don't think you could go wrong with either option though - I love how light the room looks with the white tablecloths!

My vote is Option 1 for this space! I love option 2, but I think the white linens go with the space better and that the moody flowers/dark napkins help bring the garden inside! BUT I'm not big on super dark colors personally, and it's ultimately up to you!

What color are your chairs? Contrast would help each piece standout. If the chairs are dark brown like in #2, I think the white menus, white tablecloth and dark napkins bring out the flowers. However, if you have gold chivarri chairs, I think the dark tablecloth will contrast nicely without being heavy. You can even add a little gold to the centerpiece to bring it together.

Oooh this is a good point! I'm assuming the gold Chiavari chairs in the first photo are the ones that come with your venue?

I think the second set of pictures looks better - much cleaner and crisp!

Oooo I didn’t even think about the black fountain! There is one in the courtyard right outside the reception dinner room (pictured) and there is also a huge one in our ceremony space (same venue) that we will be getting married in front of. I like the idea of pulling the ceremony vibe into the reception space and tying everything together!

Very good point! We would be using the gold chiviari chairs. And we do plan to use gold mercury glass votives in our table scape

Oh wow, I totally thought the fountain right outside your reception space was the same one as your ceremony space! I remember seeing the ceremony fountain in a separate thread, it looks absolutely stunning. I love all the fountains at your venue! ⛲

We have the option to rent pretty much any chairs we would like. So we would do gold chairs with black linens, or black chairs with light linens.

Oooooooh. That's a game changer. Hmmm... I like dark chairs and light linens. I'm sticking with my original vote 😂

Haha Nope, the one in the reception space photo in my post is a small fountain in an adjoining court yard that will be private to us. It’s super adorable- little wrought iron tables and chairs, exposed brick, and bistro lights strung above. I have a feeling we are all going to end up outside drinking under the stars by the end of the evening lol

I don’t think you can go wrong either way! I would modify option 1 to include the white menus from Option 2. Without any contrast in the tablescape, the dark colors have nothing to pop against and feel a little muddled. Additionally, that pop of white will play nicely off the room and other white accents throughout the venue

Great point about adding some light colors to the tables. This wouldn’t be the exact set up we used by any means.. the pics just have a similar vibe of what we’d be doing.

I think with those beams, the dark table clothes might overall give the impression of a lot of dark, which would make the space feel smaller and the ceilings lower, so I'd probably go for the white, but with moody dark florals to pull that element in, but they are both lovely!
