Which one is more expensive? White gold or platinum?

I’m getting platinum for my rings mostly because it’s a stronger metal. I personally think it scratches ugly, but to clean up a platinum ring, they just buff it. To clean a white gold ring, normally it has to be rhodium dipped because the white will wear off after a while. I am having it sized now, but my e ring band is very thin so I’m glad it’s platinum so it’s bit more durable.

A white gold piece will be rhodium plated to give it a whiter, shinner finish. But over time, this rhodium plating finish will wear down and the jewelry will begin to show its natural yellow color. Platinum piece must contain 95% or more of the metal, but it ages in a different way. It won't turn yellow but it will begin to lose its shiny finish. You can go polishing your platinum piece to make it back to its original condition.
