Which restaurant is better for a welcome dinner (2 choices)

Layla, on November 2, 2021 at 7:45 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 7
My venue is 3 hours away from everyone (it’s a micro wedding) and my fiancés parents offered to host the welcome dinner. If you saw my previous post, we did end up taking them up on their offer. I just can’t decide on which restaurant-

Welcome dinner option 1- restaurant at the venue, ordering off the menu, no private room, and the tables are limited to 10 people per table so we’d be split between 3 tables possibly across the restaurant.
Option 2- restaurant 15 mins down the road, great food and we’d have a private room and price-fixed menu (idk how to spell that 😅)
I can’t decide! What are your opinions?

Which has the best food and prices? Don’t go with a fancy restaurant that serves crap food just to fit an aesthetic. Get the best tasting food within your budget or don’t have the dinner.

Will everyone have transportation to drive 15 minutes down the road? If so, that seems like the best option, since you said you know the food is great there and you can have a private room, rather than splitting your guests up (after all, being together is kind of the point of the welcome dinner).

Unless there is difficulty with transportation, option 2 seems like the no-brainer: private room, good food, and a fixed menu so no surprise costs.

I would go with option #2. Seems more predictable all the way around

Option 2. Id prefer the variety , even if I had to drive myself there and give up drinking. Sounds like the perfect vibe and good food!

Option 2! I think everyone would have a better time being closer together and ordering won't be as chaotic with a smaller menu.

I agree with option 2 because it feels more like an event for just your party by having the private room. If it's 15 min down the road, it may be worth looking into some kind of shuttle service (maybe a bus or trolley).
