When changing my last name, do I have to go to the SSA office in the county of my permanent address or can I go to any location?
I never changed the address on my license or at the banks or for anything "official" when I moved in with my DH (at the time, BF) a few years ago. His address is also his parent's house as well. We currently rent a house about 2.5 hours south of the addresses on our licenses, and we don't plan on living here long so we never made the address change.
Am I making any sense?!
Do I have to go back "home" (parents) to change my name or can I go to the nearest SS office & DMV?
