White dress suggestions

Ellen, on January 1, 2020 at 12:02 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 8
I really love the look of a pure white wedding dress but am having such a hard time finding designers that actually make white white dresses. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks so much! Smiley smile

I looked at a ton of dresses and all of them came in white, but most of the stores don't carry them in the white. I wanted a pure white one as well. You should be a look online at designers. I have named a few that I know have white dresses.

Do keep in mind for many designers, ivory is a soft white. White white can have a stark almost bluish tint in photos which is why designers started using more ivory.

This was really upsetting to me! When I started looking, the first store I went to didn't bring out a single white dress (I wasn't sure what color I wanted).

The second store brought me a dress I liked in the "bright white" only because they were out of the ivory. The consultant told me "a lot of brides don't look good in bright white, but we can always order ivory."

I looked *gorgeous*! If they hadn't been out of ivory, I would never have known how beautiful "bright white" is. And I wonder how many brides-to-be are susceptible to people telling them they won't look good in white, and don't even give that color a chance? Is there some conspiracy to get girls to not wear white??

Anyways, sorry for the rant. I had my dress custom-made in white (Etsy), and I found a few options on Azazie (only "white" is stark white- "diamond white" is more off-white), and David's Bridal ("bright white"). Also, as stated above, many designers make white, but the bridal boutiques tend to only order darker colored sample gowns, so you have to ask your consultant.
    Good luck!

I had several places try to convince me that I didn't want a white dress either. They felt it would be too white, but I worn a white dress anyways because that's what I wanted. A lot of stores don't carry dresses in white. I was told this was because most people can envision what a white dress looks like, but since there are different shades of champagne, ivory, etc. that those are harder to envision.

It makes sense that they would want to give brides-to-be a chance to see what other colors might look like. Doesn't make any sense that they try to convince us not to order white. Good for you for staying strong and getting what you wanted!

You're welcome! I'm glad you were able to see past the consultants' "advice" and stay true to what you actually want. It's definitely possible to get your bright white gown, and I'm sure you will find the perfect one! ❤
