Just curious.

I don’t really have many childhood friends I’m still close to, so both my MOH and one bridesmaid are my best friends I met in college

This was a hard one for me finding bridesmaids since I don’t really have a lot of friends and not really close to my extended family. I have my MOH, a bridesmaid and a junior bridesmaid. MOH is my cousin, a friend that I’ve known since I was a teenager is the bridesmaid and since I ran out of options my FH’s 13 year old sister is the junior bridesmaid.

My maid of honor is my childhood best friend who I’ve know my whole life, and my bridesmaid will be my college best friend. As for my FH, his best man is going to be his brother and his groomsman will be his best friend.

I chose my bff who I went to college with, my bff growing up from elementary to hs, my bff from the first four years at my job, and my brother is my bridesman. Other options who I decided not to ask: my brothers’ girlfriends, my fsil (fiancé’s brother’s wife who I’ve never met), and my stepbrothers, who I was going to ask to be ushers but we decided not to have ushers. My fiancé chose his college best friend, his brother, and his best friend growing up from elementary to army deployment. He had another friend from the army but decided not to ask him because he has health problems and didn’t want to put that pressure on him.

I'm still in college, so I asked my 3 college gal pals. Not close to anyone from high school/childhood anymore, and both my sis and FSIL are older with multiple kids and no real time/interest in being part of the party. Plus, it conveniently worked out that both FH and I have 3 best friends each.

My party includes my two best friends, my cousin & my half sister. I couldn't imagine my day without them all

FH's party includes his three best friends & my brother, who he loves as if he were his own (and FH wanted to ask him to be part of his party all of his own accord, for anyone wondering)

My MOH is my mom and only bridemaid is my grandmother. Our wedding is mostly family and maybe two of his friends are coming that's it. The reason I picked and ask my mom and grandmother to be part of the wedding is because those are the two women I know that have been married the longest and I have no friends. My family is all I need

My bridal party has both men and women! My big brother has always been my best friend, and was happy to accept my “man of honor” proposal. I also have a male cousin that will be with two girls I’ve known since middle school.

So, 3 of mine were my 3 sisters, then one of my bridesmen was a friend I met in college, and the other bridesman was my husbands stepbrother. Smiley smile

My MOH was my best friend from college. I chose a bridesdude over a bridesmaid, because none of my other female friends were so much closer to me than others. So it made sense to choose 1 over another. The bridesdude I've known since middle school. He's essentially an older brother to me. He was the guy who drove two states away to pick me up from a car accident in the middle of the night.

I have my best friend as MOH (we've been friends since about 2013, used to live together), a girl who she is best friends with (we all went to high school together but we're close until after we graduated). I also have my cousin who I'm really close with. And then I decided to include FH cousin and his stepsister. I'm super glad I did. We are all getting closer because of them being my bridesmaids.

    1. Maid of Honor- High School/Part time Job best friend

    2. Matron of Honor- My cousin and godmother

    3. High School Friend and College Roommate

    4. College Friend

    5. College Friend

    6. College Roommate

    7. Life After College/Full Time Job Friend

    8. College Friend

I don't have any sisters, and my fiance has a sister but we decided it was better for her to be a guest so we could all enjoy ourselves. That would be my biggest tip- do not feel obligated to include anyone. Your bridesmaids should be people you love and trust and can depend on. Don't ask a cousin because you think your mom and aunt will be mad if you don't, etc.

Mine are a mix of both friends and family. My 2 best friends are the maid of honor and matron of honor. My cousin, FH's sister, and 2 of my former coworkers who I've remained closed with are my bridesmaids.
